Third Order Members SSPX
« on: April 12, 2012, 03:18:00 PM »
I feel obliged to come out of 'retirement' but I am praying for Third Order members. I took advice several years ago and was advised not to become a third order.I just read this thread on Ignis. My sincere prayers as people will have to make a decision. Those who follow Rome will have sold the Archbishop down the river and have betrayed Tradition. Faithful in Ireland can't wait to confront Bishop Fellay over his treatment of Bishop Williamson. Catholics have to take a stand. I'm rather cynical of Bishop Fellay. He is putting good priests in very awkward positions with their congregation.

My question is how do I become and un-Third Order member of the SSPX?

Even if Rome says that +Fellay's final "clarification" is now acceptable to Rome and Rome officially recognizes the SSPX, who is ever going to know just what +Fellay said exactly to Rome in all these "clarifications" in order to get them to agree that we are now acceptable?

I suppose we can look forward to +Fellay singing the Te Deum and declaring such an outcome to be a miracle of God, but I am not braced to accept that.

No one will ever convince me that in order to achieve such an end of a Roman acceptance of the SSPX, (if that is indeed the outcome, which it certainly is shaping up to look that way, as early reports are saying it looks like a done deal. That is not absolute of course but that is the word floating about.)that +Fellay did not have to compromise the Truth or twist it until it was so deformed that it was finally acceptable to Rome.

The faithful will more than likely never know for sure, because everything has been done in secret and undoubtedly will remain that way.

Maybe I'm being hyper-critical, or possibly just too cautious but such an outcome simply would not add up in my mind as being a victory for Christ or that Rome has returned to their Catholic senses.

I feel sorry for those who feel betrayed by Bishop Fellay, Fr Lorans, Fr Pfluger and other ambitious clerics. Our Divine Lord and Archbishop Lefebvre  had no such ambitions. Was our Divine Lord or St Joseph in the workshop in Nazareth or Pope St. Pius X like this? No. Let them have their 'deal' with Rome.We will see where the SSPX is after it. The Society will be finished.I feel very strongly on it and oppose a sell out.The approach Bishop F is taking of doing good 'within' is naive and a compromise.

Though I wish it was another bishop as SG of the SSPX right now as well, lets wait to see what happens, before we work ourselves up over something which may not happen.

It was put to the Society priests in Ireland that vast majority priests and faithful oppose Bishop Fellay. He presses ahead as do a few other clerics. One of these has brought Max Krah into heart of SSPX affairs. I certainly question the judgement of those who hired him or was it deliberate. It's a scandal.
