  • Would this have been a case where the end does not justify the means? (Theft) Another case where our hood intentions actually cause us to do wrong? I know that the question of whether it is ok to lie for a good cause often comes to my mind. Is it a sin or not to lie in such a way? Or is silence or deceptive speech the best way? But then such a response might reveal the truth. The consequences of the evil caused would still be on someone else's soul, and it would be God's right to revenge.

So that, at least I, may learn something by a confirmation of my suspicion, would it have been better to just leave that horrible magnet?

I'm still praying for you. Being out of work sucks, but at least there's a lot more time for prayer, meditation, spiritual reading, ect. Make the best of this time while you can.

No.  This object has no objective right to exist or to be possessed by anyone.  No one has a right to possess it and therefore has no ownership rights to it.  Unless of course you believe in Religious Liberty.  According to Vatican II, they do have a right to own it, and this would be theft.  This is a clear example of the ramifications of Religious Liberty.  But in Catholic reality, no, this is not theft, since they have no rights in justice to own it.

Thanks for your clarity. I wasn't honestly sure myself. I thought at least a venial sin given it wasn't a really grave matter. But I figured its removal justified it in itself

We've had some Catholic martyrs who were killed because they destroyed some pagan idols that didn't belong to them.

  • Well, that's the thing about it. I told my boss three weeks ago what I did and she didn't really bat an eye at it she thought the magnet (it said "Satan loves me") was stupid. I warned her it was reported to HR, but I didn't even get to tell much of my side at all. I had a perfect record, no discipline, was a good employee. It had to be a factor since they have it on record that I request religious exemptions from mandatory jabs.

We did a very prompt, informal meeting this evening where I was asked some questions to get "my side" only as a formality before she said I was being terminated. Given her reaction, I know she was really tore up about it, so clearly this came from higher ups and HR goys to just cut me loose. It was over in two minutes and I'm packing my stuff and out the door.

As soon as the complaint from your subordinate was received, HR (together with upper management) performed a risk assessment to determine what was in the “best interest” of the company, and determined it was riskier to keep you than letting you go.

They we’re more afraid of what waves the devil worshipper might make for them, than what the good guy might do.

HR’s only purpose is to protect company interests.  Those who believe it is to protect employees are naive.

Yes, HR -- let us remember that stands for "Human Resources". Real warm and fuzzy...

  • What a contrast!  I’d have been fired from my last job for having a blasphemous car magnet!

  • Yes, I think it was because I was on file as having refused the jab multiple times via my exemptions. But also because I was management.

I think the cops pulled the video from that day in the ramp and spoke with each person they saw entering. Unless there was a dash cam on the car. I literally just swiped it as I walked past and disposed of it elsewhere. It wasn't super obvious, I believe. I don't recall there being a camera where they were parked.
Yeah, that's how the cop I spoke with framed it too, as theft. Then he lectured me on the 1st amendment and that was that.
DL, thank you so much for your gracious answers to my questions. Though there is much to discuss here, prayer for you and your family comes first, and I haven't forgotten that.

If you don't mind, your additional replies raise other questions for me. Apparently you intended to execute justice "while the coast was clear," as Lad qualified it. Are you telling us that the idiot moron who sported the thing actually missed it? Actually noticed it was missing? I mean what kind of effeminate wimp would keep track of his bumper stickers? It's a "man," I presume. And I presume also that this "theft victim" did not know it was you when he/she/it reported it, yes?

And were you identified as the perp because they saw something on camera or because you came clean either voluntarily or when asked about it?

The whole thing is bizarre, and I mean it may have been the very demons that agitated against you. I've had it happen to me, and if our Lord allows it, they can do damage to your external goods.

  • So the Satanist freak complained that someone took his bumper magnet and they went to review the camera footage?  Unbelievable.  If someone brought a complaint about that to me, I wouldn't waste 5 minutes of my time, "Maybe your thing fell off.  We've got bigger things to worry about."  I'm not about to go thour 8 hours of video footage for something that stupid.

Maybe you could put a "racist" or "sexist" bumper sticker on your car to express YOUR first amendment, and they would undoubtedly send you packing for that.  If some Person of Color then removed your magnet, you would be the one getting in trouble.
EXACTLY on all counts. Hence my questions. What kind of man keeps track of his girly stickers, especially when his car was probably plastered with them? Something's off.

  • I just prayed to St. Joseph for your intention. I hope that you rebound quickly and land a better gig. DL, although I don't know you it appears from this thread that you are a man of integrity and honor. I'm sorry that you lost your job. As a husband, father, and provider that is a terrifying thing. Do you have a wife and children? I only ask because if you do, what you did took extra courage. I am the sole provider for my family of six. My wife homeschools our four young boys. I worry that if I lose my job, or my ability to work, that my wife may have to work again and my kids would have to go into the public school system around all of the filth of this modern world. So I try to lay low at work and not make waves. A few years ago a close friend of mine got fired over a somewhat similar circuмstance to yours. Afterward he said to me that he didn't regret what he had done, but that he wouldn't have done it again because he didn't change any minds or wake up any NPCs as a result of his actions, which is what he was aiming for. So he and I have a text group with other like-minded guys that support each other as we have to live inside the demon matrix to collect our shekels.

A final anecdote of hope. A little over a year ago I had to give up a job that I liked because of their jab mandate and refusal to grant exemption. I found another job that was willing to grant me an exemption, and was able to transition smoothly without any employment gaps, which was a blessing, but I had to take a substantial pay cut going to the other job. It was an extremely stressful time for me. Then, about six months ago I heard from a former coworker with that company that they were closing the division that I had worked in. All of my old coworker from that job were now looking for employment elsewhere. So I would have had to leave and take that pay cut eventually anyway, but at least I got to do it on my own terms. So it gave me some consolation over the distress and frustration that I had felt for my reduction of income. Stay strong brother!
Great post! You state the dilemma well. And yes, DL is a family man.

And it really is a dilemma because fear strenthens the matrix (the filthy thing runs on fear); yet being made an example of is a lonely business.

I know that God will help DL. We have to see now what happens.

    Prayers, prayers, prayers!

That’s a shame.  I think people give us a hard time on the road because of our Jesus fish on our car.  What was your magnet?
May God bless you and keep you

Yes, I think we've been brainwashed to think taking manly action is a sin. He could have left it there, but his Catholicity impelled him to take action. That's manly. I hate the injustice, but I like the take action of it.

Someone else mentioned how inequitable is the balance of harm. Some scuмbag lost a $5 trinket, and a Crusader lost his livelihood - TEMPORARILY.

Stinks of the preternatural to me.

So are we expected to always take such a thing?  That's a lot of bumper stickers etc

  • First amendment never included satanism and hate vulgar speech.  As Catholics, the bumper sticker means hate for Jesus and Christianity.

Of course not. It's not a sin to walk by and leave such things alone. I think the point is that it's not a sin when someone takes action to remove noxious filth that has no rights. For example, what if it was an explicitly x-rated picture displayed in public? The common good trumps the self-proclaimed-but-really-non-existent-rights of the filthbearers, no?

Only SCOTUS, only rogue usurped authority - may it all come tumbling down - gives to evil "rights."

Prudence dictates in each situation, and that includes assuming the risk of retaliation. God sees everything and the devil sees a lot. He will retaliate if God permits.

But your advice above was good. Let DL take it to the confessional, where hopefully he will receive correct information.
