Quote from: Matthew
Moths are cold-blooded, so you can eat them on Friday I think.
(if you want to, that is)

I thought I heard a priest say that eating insects was OK on Friday?
I don't have time to look it up right now.

Good to know!

Storing food in glasss jars has a plus: hopefully, you'll see the bugs before they get too bad.  The negative would be that if you're in earthquake or hurricane country, you can have broken glass.

Don't forget to do some rodent prevention.  Store food in rodent proof containers and you may also want to put out some mousetraps and maybe some rat poison where you store your food.

A few things we added to our list: (maybe some have already been listed)
TOILET PAPER
Blankets, sleeping bags, warm underwear
toothpaste
antihistamines
soap
bleach

From an Italian viewpoint, dont forget to stock up on some different pastas and some canned spaghetti sauce! :dancing:

I don't know how they work but how about solar panels for electricity? We have given some thought to buying a couple for when we go camping. We also keep wind up radios and camp sterno stoves in our apartment for when we have a power outage in the winter. The stove works great for warming soup etc.

Now that I think about it, I'd add a 50lb bag of popcorn kernels to the list, as well as some sea salt and canola or olive oil to pop it in. That will last a person for a while.

And as a treat, I would get some packs of organic MSG-free beef jerkey (though it might be kinda pricey). Personally I would just make my own.
