...The exclusion is merely one final blow...

Interpreted, this says that the 'exclusion' is not THE final blow, but ONE OF
(perhaps) TWO OR MORE final blows.  And what would the other(s) be?  Well,
they would be of the same order as the 'one' that's already occurred, that is,
the so-called 'exculsion' of an SSPX bishop.  And so, how could that happen
a second or a third time?  Well, there are two other bishops in the SSPX who
could potentially suffer a similar so-called 'exclusion,' are there not?

    Get it?

    (Regarding the next quote):

You could avoid all this by using the hyphen instead of the forward slash.
Forward slash and colon don't work in most PC filenames because it is too
confusing for the computer.  That's the habit that spills over to these thread
titles. Go "10-27-2012" and your date will show up just fine.  Better yet, if
you want to organize your archives use  2012-10-27  and then they will
automatically store in chronological order.   TA-DA!  (methinks that has an
etymology in the Te Deum - because "Teh-Deh" would sound like "today.")
(Also, ask any trumpet player, "ta-da" is how you play two fast notes, by the
    necessary "tonguing" of the instrument.)

Hm... My last one was EC 275...  how come I missed about 750 ECs in just one week... ?!

     :scratchchin:

Actually, it is EC 276. The starter of this thread chose to put the date it was published.

Blame on Matthew for refusing communion to the slashes into the thread title.

That would've certainly avoid the confusion.

But as long as Matthew allows +Williamson's slashes on Liberalism, I forgive him.

Yes, I concur -- at least, it is now time for all traditional choirs to start to rehearse
the Te Deum, so one day we may be able to sing it liturgically.

You don't want to have to learn that well in a short period of time.  It should be
given months or even years of 'slow cooking' in your hearts and minds, so as
to evoke the power of the Holy Ghost in mind and matter, with full consent of
the heart and intellect and will.

Let us sing while we have breath.
    Praise to God eternal!
    Praise the Victor over death.
    Praise to God eternal.

    Glory to the Father,
    Glory to the Son,
    Glory to the Holy Ghost,
    Praise to God forever!

    10/27 is the date --> October 27

Perhaps he is beginning a new numbering system with this first Kyrie Eleison where he is free?

(Richard Keys Biggs, the PapaBach of the Western Hemisphere IMHO)

Biggs was very good with the organ.  The following link has an organ that sounds
a lot like the way he played in Blessed Sacrament Parish, Hollywood, CA. in the
mid-1930's through the 50's.  I could not find any online recordings of his organ
    or choral works.

Here is a recording of Te Deum with antiphonal organ/choir style.  The photo
shows Notre Dame Cathedral, France, but it isn't clear if that's where it was
taped.  It sounds like the organ there that I've heard before in recordings.

This is the solemn Gregorian Chant Te Deum.  I looked around on YouTube for
some good examples and this is the best one I found in a few minutes.  Does
    anyone have a better link?

This has a huge organ sound; a magnificent, multi-level and voluminous
impression.  The Te Deum is traditionally the piece that is used for the most
solemn and greatest occasion of praise and glory to God, a "triumphal" work.

The post-Conciliar Church has abhorred 'triumphalism' and therefore the Te Deum
has fallen into disuse.  There are very few choirs who know how to sing it.

Maybe that will change some day .......... then again, who knows?

  • Is there an archive of BW's Eleison Comments available for download? I recently signed up to receive them, but would like to read all of them and have them local.

I emailed editorial@dinoscopus.org 2 weeks ago with this question and haven't gotten a response.

Ideally, I'd like all the back issues to be forwarded to my email.

I've thought about that before, but never asked the question.  And I don't know
the answer.  I suspect the Dinoscopus crowd might be suspicious of who you
are and what you're up to in this.  You know what I mean?

Normally, they are willing to provide a select issue or maybe a particular month
or two, but I've never heard of all of them being sent out as a bundle.  It says
right on the site how to contact them for back issues.  Also, they might be rather
busy lately with all the recent Menzingen rumblings.

I would suggest sending another request, but don't send lots of them.  Just two
in a few days' time, or one week, and mention in the second msg that it is a
repeat of the previous one from (fill in the date).  You say "two weeks," well that
ought to be plenty of time to justify a second msg from you.  Also, if you send
a reasonable donation it might help to move this along .............  :cowboy:

  • I asked in the email if there was a charge. I'd be willing to pay for them, as opposed to having to scour the internet and save them one by one.

They should be published, actually. There's enough of them by now to warrant a book.

I'll email them again in a couple days if no one here replies.

No, I have no idea what you mean.

For a start, here's an archive starting with EC 157 "Modern Art II" (24 July 2010), so the the earlier 156 ECs are missing over there. The Archive contains the German and English edition:
    Eleisonkommentar.blogspot.com

(I'm not too familiar with Google's blogspot, but I think you can click on a month or even year on the right panel, and so you can see and download (via the browser's menu "file -> save to") several editions at once.)

P.S. I also have the ECs saved locally somehwere (also the earlier once), but it would take some time and muse to collect and bundle them... (I did so in the past but the package got deleted or lost somehow). Maybe a kind reader already has these ECs ready to send to you?

I hope they can forward me the past issues though. I like the handsome design of the official emails.
