Opus Dei's "Church Militant" must be pretty hard up for an SSPX scandal.

That story is so old, it has mold on it.

Father Van Der Putten was disciplined many times.  He went off the rails and was defrocked by B16 at Bp. Fellay's request.

Agreed, but there are still plenty of folks who are not aware....the act itself is horrendous....but is magnified by the coverup.  I for one was familiar with Van Derputtin, I purchased his retreat cassettes and looked to him for spiritual direction as a young husband and new father.  When he fell off the radar I started to ask SSPX priests what happened to him. Most told me he was transferred to Europe.  The closest answer to the truth that I received was that HE requested to be laicized because he fell in love and wanted to get married. Modernist  BXVI was more than happy to grant the request (one more Traditionalist gone). While I thought the story I was given was a bit fishy, I had no idea how bad it stunk.

Sad!  For a wholelotta reasons!

I have to wonder what the Archbishop would have done in this situation.  I’m sure in his long career he encountered unsavory / perverted priests.

It might be old news, but it was quite traumatizing to hear the details and learn the identity of the first (?) victim. I'd known that there had been sɛҳuąƖ impropriety, but had no idea of what a bad predator VDP dad been, considering his pre-meditation and his multiple victims. I'd known LouAnn and her brother when they lived in Post Falls. And I'd known Fr. VDP from the time he was ordained, and had been on retreat when he was retreat master. I saw a lot I didn't like about him from the start. And he became increasingly erratic before he was pulled from Los Gatos.
With the NWO's jackboot on The Church's face at this time in history, I hate to see Church Militant going after the SSPX like this. But on the other hand, I can see that the cover-ups and minimizing of the scandals paved the way for even more scandals. I'm not sure of the timeline, but if that pilgrimage to Europe took place after LouAnn informed Frs. T Pfeiffer and T Scott, that's inexcusable!

The Crisis in The Church has shown us there are wolves in sheep’s clothing everywhere.
If individual Priests were known only for saying Mass and giving the Sacraments, then perhaps these naive souls would stop putting them on pedestals as if anyone in a cassock is a ‘perfect living Saint’. This is misplaced trust that is causing this problem and not the cover-up (which is despicable btw)

DON’T send your children and teens on retreats or pilgrimages alone or without you there to watch them.
DON’T become overly familiar or get cozy in a friendship with these men just because they're wearing a white collar.
Priests are NOT GOD, they are fallible men that make mistakes. (Or worse, some are predators that are hiding out in the prime locations to find their victims)

While I’ve personally had the privilege to meet many good and holy priests over the years, I know they aren’t Saints until after they are dead, buried, and declared one by The Church.
