As a non-Resistance supporter, I think this is wonderful, wonderful news. Rev. Father Christian Bouchacourt is a Priest to whom the Holy Father said many decades ago, in Argentina, "You are Catholic. That is evident. I will help you".
And I know I'm vastly in the minority here, but I wonder if most of you really believe what the leader and shepherd of the Resistance, Bp. Williamson teaches: H.E. repeated the docuмented fact that there have been Eucharistic Miracles - there was one in Buenos Aires! Just like the one in Lanciano so many centuries ago! - in Masses said by Priests ordained in the new rite, from which it clearly follows the new rites are valid.
The Traditional Sacraments have more grace and they confer grace upon us super-abundantly; the new ones have less, because of infiltration and they didn't come from the Church in Her perfect freedom etc. But they are valid. And anyway, that won't matter since 2 SSPX Bishops will be co-consecrating. It will demonstrably be valid and licit.
This is surely a precursor to an impending Triumph of Tradition in the Church. If 2 Bidhops are indeed consecrated by tacit Papal mandate in and for the Church, they will according to Catholic doctrine receive ordinary jurisdiction upon being so appointed. This is Divine Mercy, Mercy from God through His Vicar on earth, regardless of what a few naysayers - who will claim the Society is just on the verge of collapse for the next 20 years while it grows from strength to strength and enjoys evident marks of divine favor - will say about. Catholic Tradition will then have 5 fully authorized Traditional Catholic Bishops working for restoration in and for the Church and it's game on in the fight for the future of Tradition in Rome. The next step will be for a Traditional Bishop to become a Cardinal. And countless possibilities will open up after that.
The mouths of our enemies in the Church will already be completely shut by this.
All that will remain then is for good Bp. Williamson to hopefully be reconciled with the Society authorities in God's Good Time, so that Tradition can be even stronger and more united.
I expect a 1000 downthumbs but I'm too euphoric right now to care much about that.
