Is it just me, or are many young people today having an existential crisis and becoming either alt-right or communist? Communities and Churches and families are dead and in despair people are reaching out to the government as a father. Even trad Catholic churches are mostly Mass only. People travel from afar for Mass only and they do not serve the parental and social functions that parishes used to serve for two thousand years.

Maybe we should ban contraception.

But in my experience in the world as I see it, I think there are two big problems. Loneliess and meaninglessness. People feel very lonely whether or not they are around other people. Either they are truly alone or their relationships are not meaningful. And now that nobody believes in God they think life has no meaning and there is a void of emptiness and despair.

You are absolutely right, Matto.  The world has an awful lot of problems. 

A person who decides against having children because they are concerned about their finances has a grave spiritual problem, not an economic one.  If that same person suddenly found a job that paid three times the amount they now make, they would find some other reason not to have children. 

I can't hardly think of any problem in the world today that isn't directly tied to spiritual problems. 

A person must find his way to the Catholic Church and follow Our Lord's teaching.  Follow them completely and constantly work on amending their own faults.
