  • Shin-  your bowel is probably horrifically inflamed. Yes , you need oral vanco and and doxycycline for the c-diff and Yes you will need probiotics while you are on all of this antibiotic therapy. But to decrease symptoms, at least while you are healing, you need to be on a low fiber anti-inflammatory diet. Normally, veggies are a good thing, but for you they are probably  a cause for pain and symptoms. Eat as mildly as you can without fiber and see how you do. Meat and eggs are ok, some dairy can be an issue but some raw cheeses and yogurt is good. Eat like a baby. Watch out for grains as well. Avocados may be the only plant food you may be able to tolerate. I only know because I have experienced c-diff. The fasting periods are very healing. I'm glad that you have finally found a cause for your sufferings. Glycine is a good supplement to look into. A good diet online is  the GAPS diet.
    God bless you
    Thank you.
    Thanks everyone.
Josefamenendez I will do my best to follow your advice. I am having a lot of yoghurt. I've never had so much before in my life.. At least the 32 oz containers will make good planters for the garden. I am taking probiotics with the yoghurt, and reading up on what are the best ones.
My gastroenterologist appt has been moved to the 1st, hopefully no more scheduling issues. I got the doctor I was first trying to get after a snafu with the choice I was offered when he was not available. This is quite a good result most likely, as he gets favorable reviews and his educational background is good too.
I am extremely thirsty all the time. I can hardly wait to receive some sort of treatment to help with everything. I have neither improved or declined in the past couple days.
    Kyrie eleison.

    Sincerely,

    Shin

  • Appointment with the gastoenterologist went well overall. We did not go into the neurological issues and just focused on treating the h. pylori and c. diff.

The decision was made to treat both at the same time, and the c. diff in an extended way because of that, so I will be on 3 different antibiotics, a proton pump inhibitor, and a whole lot of pepto bismol. The h. pylori anibiotics for 2 weeks, the c. diff for 4 all together.

And so I just ordered a ton more of refrigerated probiotics to go with all this. I should be starting the meds in a day or two.

    Ave, Ave, Ave Maria...
    Sincerely,

    Shin

  • Are you talking about the antibiotics, Shin?
If so, you might be experiencing a Herxheimer reaction, which is caused by the die-off of bacteria creating toxins that you are reacting to..do you have a fever with this? God bless you

  • Oh, dear, sorry to hear this, Shin.  Maybe this is a die-off situation as Josefamenendez mentioned.

Praying you get through this and feel better.

  • Thank you folks. I needed those prayers.

It was a very difficult attack. I've largely recovered from it thankfully.

I've messaged my doctor with a request for an alternative treatment. This sort of reaction is not something I bear, so that is that.

I think that going back to my fasting and probiotics regimen is what I'll do regardless, it worked to some significant degree, perhaps if it's long term enough it will be enough.

    Sincerely,

    Shin

  • You need to eradicate the c-diff somehow or else the good probiotics will not have a chance to repopulate the bowel.  The c-diff will gradually weaken you. Maybe there is a natural way to do this. I'll look into it.

  • Hi Shin,

Have you been tested for thyroid disease? Thyroid problems can cause tremors, though it's not common. Thyroid issues along with parasites can lead to big problems (I have both, but thankfully have never had tremors). Hashimoto's Thyroiditis is associated with low thyroid production, and Grave's disease is associated with too high thyroid production.

    Will offer prayers for you.

  • In the past I've had some serious thyroid issues because they were untreated but they've fairly minor nowadays I think. I get my TSH levels checked regularly. I will get tested again soon to see if I even still need thyroid medication. I was tested for Hashimoto's, and that was not it though we thought it was for awhile -- hypothyroidism.

There's not much to report here, I'm a little worse this past week, just continuing to try dietary changes to see if that helps.

Not sure what the cause of it all is, c.diff, or perhaps some yeast inbalance in the gut that doesn't show up in tests, or something else entirely. Just trying bit by bit to find out what changes if different anti-yeast and anti-bacterial pathogen dietary changes are made.

I will see the head of the dept of neurology at the end of this month. I will be looking for a different gastroenterologist who has other solutions than antibiotics if it's possible to find one.

Very thankful for all the prayers and well wishes.

It's heartening to know there are folks praying for me and lifting me to God. May God keep and help you all in every way. :)
    Sincerely,

    Shin
