  • Mass is starting

Where is that?  It doesn't look like it's at Econe, and I see no seminarians in choir.

EDITED TO ADD:  Looks like that one is in Chile (based on the caption)?

Yes, it does look like the Requiem/Memorial Mass for Bp. Tissier was in Chile. I assume that the coffin was empty? According to a communication from Angelus Press, the funeral Mass will be held at Econe on Oct. 18th.

Death of Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais - Angelus Press

"It is licit to resist a Sovereign Pontiff who is trying to destroy the Church. I say it is licit to resist him in not following his orders and in preventing the execution of his will. It is not licit to Judge him, to punish him, or to depose him, for these are acts proper to a superior."

  • Here is the Mass from the seminary. Looks like several countries are having Masses.

    Yeah... it'd be empty...

It's what is called having the body "morally present" and is used when there is no body (as in the case of a plane crash or other disappearance where a body cannot be present).

  •  The Life of Bishop Tissier de Mallerais
To tackle the biography of Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais is to retrace, in a few lines, the entire history of the Society of Saint Pius X, of which he was both an active participant and a privileged witness, since the beginning.
We owe him immense gratitude for having transmitted, through his magnificent biography of Archbishop Lefebvre and his countless conferences to seminarians, priests and the faithful, the knowledge and love of our venerable founder, and the work he established, through which radiated his profound love for the Roman Catholic Church, the faith, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the priesthood and Christ the King.

  • I was confirmed by Tissier about 10 years ago. I'll always remember when he pulled my arm to stand next to him for a group photo. I have no idea why he did that, but it was a special day. I also think it's pretty cool that he said in 2016-"now, dear faithful, this prayer, this rite of transmitting the power to forgive sin, has simply been removed from the new rite of ordination. There is no longer any question of it. So, this new rite of ordination is not Catholic."

That's interesting, too bad the modern SSPX has compromised on this.

Thank you for sharing!  I really think Bishop Tissier may have been one of the reasons the SSPX never fully capitulated with the new ordinations...

He was my favorite of the SSPX bishops.  I almost had a chance to meet him a few years ago but the plans sadly fell through.  May he rest in peace.

I know & their "bod" nonsense.  They are down to 2 bishops now. They are going to wipe themselves out soon if they don't consecrate more bishops. They're afraid to upset their pope. When the last 2 die, they will just have their priests left. Sad that future people won't get the sacrament of confirmation.

  • It seems that Bishop Tissier was highly respected even by many who didn't agree with him on everything.  Here below are a couple quotes and a link to an interview Bishop Tissier had with the people from the True Restoration website:

"His courtesy and gentleness struck a chord, especially as I had just watched him celebrate Mass in one of the most precise and holy ways I had ever seen."

"These are some of the strongest words I have ever seen from a bishop of the Society of St. Pius X."

It's scary that the SSPX aren't consecrating any more bishops! Maybe the SSPX will die out because God is punishing them because they hold that people in false religions can be saved.    https://x.com/LiaEleven/status/1538192865217499136
