Bishop Tissier de Mallerais had a fall at Econe and is in the hospital. :pray:Oh, no! Please keep us posted if you hear more. 😢🙏
:pray:This is very, very good news.
Announcement at Mass was that Bishop Tissier's condition today thankfully is not dire, but to please continue to pray for him, nonetheless.
:pray:Good to know! Thank you for sharing! 🥰

We ask for prayers for H.E. Bishop Tissier de Mallerais.Oh, wow... Recovering from something that big may take awhile... We will keep praying. 😣🙏
On the morning of Saturday 28 September, after the Angelus, he fell on the stairs of the seminary in Ecône and lost consciousness. He is currently in hospital.
He suffered a fractured skull accompanied by internal haemorrhaging, but his condition has stabilised. He is gradually coming out of the induced coma in which he had been placed, and his prognosis is no longer life-threatening.
Although still unable to communicate, he is responding quite encouragingly to medical requests. Further tests are under way to determine the extent of the damage. Hospital staff are optimistic, but his condition remains serious, and the consequences of the trauma uncertain.
We thank all the faithful for their prayers for this intention.

I will see if there are any recent updates and post them here when time allows.Thank you!
Unfortunately, the news about Bishop Tissier de Mallerais is not good.Oh, no! 😣
His Lordship has still not regained consciousness, and this is worrying, as it is now five days since the doctors stopped the sedatives.
The evolution of the situation is in the hands of Divine Providence.
Prayers are needed more than ever.

This is very sad and concerning. Bishop Tissier is an intellectual powerhouse, for decades one of the Society’s most important minds.I'm sorry, I didn't mean to down thumb you.
He was so instrumental during the 1980’s that Archbishop Lefebvre referred to Bishop Tissier as his “guardian angel.”
I have met the Bishop over the years. He is a gentle, kind, man who visibly radiates sanctity and piety.
He has been frail for many years, I remember attending an ordination some years ago and he had to recite some of the Canon sitting down due to weakness. There is always famously a can of Coca Cola hidden behind the altar when he says Mass in case he needs a spike in his blood sugar.
So many souls are indebted to His Excellency in many ways.
There is a report from Ecône that his condition is much worse than expected and that he may not live through the week. From Twitter: https://x.com/JulianDFink/status/1843016247358972161 (https://x.com/JulianDFink/status/1843016247358972161):pray::pray:
If you don't have Twitter/X, it reads as follows: ""Prayer request — Monseigneur Tissier de Mallerais is dying (announced today from the pulpit in Ecône). The rector of the seminary said that he [the bishop] is expected to die in a few days. We ask for your prayers! Fr. Helmut Trutt SSPX (Munich)" [10/06, 8:16pm CEST/2:16pm EST]". So breaking as of this afternoon.

Where is that? It doesn't look like it's at Econe, and I see no seminarians in choir.
EDITED TO ADD: Looks like that one is in Chile (based on the caption)?
Yes, it does look like the Requiem/Memorial Mass for Bp. Tissier was in Chile. I assume that the coffin was empty?
Yeah... it'd be empty...
It's what is called having the body "morally present" and is used when there is no body (as in the case of a plane crash or other disappearance where a body cannot be present).

I was confirmed by Tissier about 10 years ago. I'll always remember when he pulled my arm to stand next to him for a group photo. I have no idea why he did that, but it was a special day. I also think it's pretty cool that he said in 2016-"now, dear faithful, this prayer, this rite of transmitting the power to forgive sin, has simply been removed from the new rite of ordination. There is no longer any question of it. So, this new rite of ordination is not Catholic."That's interesting, too bad the modern SSPX has compromised on this.

That's interesting, too bad the modern SSPX has compromised on this.I know & their "bod" nonsense. They are down to 2 bishops now. They are going to wipe themselves out soon if they don't consecrate more bishops. They're afraid to upset their pope. When the last 2 die, they will just have their priests left. Sad that future people won't get the sacrament of confirmation.
Thank you for sharing! I really think Bishop Tissier may have been one of the reasons the SSPX never fully capitulated with the new ordinations...You're welcome. He confirmed 4 of my siblings also.
He was my favorite of the SSPX bishops. I almost had a chance to meet him a few years ago but the plans sadly fell through. May he rest in peace.
It seems that Bishop Tissier was highly respected even by many who didn't agree with him on everything. Here below are a couple quotes and a link to an interview Bishop Tissier had with the people from the True Restoration website:It's scary that the SSPX aren't consecrating any more bishops! Maybe the SSPX will die out because God is punishing them because they hold that people in false religions can be saved. https://x.com/LiaEleven/status/1538192865217499136
"His courtesy and gentleness struck a chord, especially as I had just watched him celebrate Mass in one of the most precise and holy ways I had ever seen."
"These are some of the strongest words I have ever seen from a bishop of the Society of St. Pius X."

Time to start praying harder. :pray:Yes
The CMRI priests are already in trouble on their judgment day for refusing us (who don't hold "bod") the sacraments. Fr. Palma will allow the past popes who held water baptism, which they call "feeneyism" holy communion, because they are saints but not us.

I wonder, whether Bishop Williamson plans to attend Bishop Tissier’s funeral at Econe on Friday. They were, after all, brother Bishops.
The CMRI priests are already in trouble on their judgment day for refusing us (who don't hold "bod") the sacraments. This is false. The CMRI will administer the sacraments to both Sedeplenists and Feeneyites but prefers those who hold to those opinions do not try and preach them among the congregation.
I’m afraid +Bp. W. won’t be welcomed at +Bp. Tissier’s funeral. Maybe if sneaks in late and ducks out early. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already been uninvited by Fr. Pagliarani and +Bp. Fellay.
To the ongoing debates re: Who accepts people with Stands X, Y, or Z for Communion...
My solution is to just show up for Mass if I’m not at my usual chapel, ie. traveling. I’ve never once been refused any Sacrament or been interrogated.
Bumping this as a reminder to pray for Bishop Tissier as his funeral approaches.
It was announced as being held on October 18th at 9:30 am Econe time.
Requiescat in pace. :pray::pray::pray:
