In Rome the heart of St. Charles Borromeo is on display in the Church of Saint Ambrose and Saint Charles Borromeo.

    Thank you for correcting me.

I was of the opinion that such a thing might have only occurred for certain martyrs, but I admit I made a mistake and am wrong. It seems whenever a body of one of the saints is exhumed and found to be incorrupt, they often go in and check the vital organs - I was reading where another saint's (can't remember who) brain and heart are incorrupt.

Interesting! I was only aware of the heart of St. Charles because my wife and I went to Rome for our honeymoon and actually stumbled upon the church where his heart is kept. It was quite the experience! I hope to make the trip again some day. It's sad to go there and experience the glory of the Church and to think about the state the Church is in today.
