Fr. Peter Scott condemns Bishop Fellay's Deal | Cor Mariae

The Catholic Resistance
Resistance Movement

Discussion in 'Resistance Movement' started by M****, Feb 4, 2017.

Not uncommon to notice the old-SSPX archives and the freedom its superiors and priests had once, calling out the bellious attempts to arrive at a "deal" with the modernist in Rome without doctrinal clarifications.

Here is another old-SSPX condemnation from Fr. Peter Scott, former US District superior, Regina Coeli Sept. 2001:

"The reason why the Superiors cannot possibly accept a “deal” at this present time is the exact same reason why Archbishop Lefebvre stated, after the episcopal consecrations of 1988, that no negotiations with Rome could succeed so long as the authorities refused to accept and acknowledge our right to stand up firmly against the liberal revolution of Vatican II. It is but common sense, for any deal not built upon the rock of strong conviction will be founded upon the sand of political compromise, and the less influential party will eventually succuмb, as was the case with the Fraternity of St. Peter.

"...It is manifestly obvious that Rome has no intention whatsoever of
promoting the work of Tradition or even simply to allow traditional Catholics to defend the integrity of the Faith. Any deal at this time would necessarily mean the partial and progressive giving up of the defense of the Faith, and the eventual division that the Roman prelates desire to create in our midst.
Let us then stand together and stand firm;  if we dialogue, then let it be uniquely on the doctrinal differences between the present representatives (...) the Holy See and (...) Church’s infallible Ordinary and Extraordinary Magisterium." (Fr. Peter Scott, Regina Coeli, Sept. 2001)

It's clear nothing has changed on the part of modernist Rome still in 2017 except to disparage and dislocate anything remnant of Catholic Tradition (Franciscans of the Immaculata, Redemptorists, Oasis sisters, etc. )

Fr. Peter Scott lists a few examples of the bi-mental gymnastics the
modernists in Rome always look to evolve in parsing words:

"The statement of Cardinal Castrillon in his May 17 letter to Bishop De Galarreta “that Archbishop Lefebvre did not have dogmatic differences with the Holy See, but a divergent understanding of the criteria for the Church’s  holiness and perfection”. Again, this is total ignorance of the Archbishop’s writings, or more likely a deliberate deformation. From the time of Vatican II until his death the Archbishop never ceased to publicly oppose the dogmatic errors of ecuмenism, religious liberty, collegiality and the denial of the
  Social Kingship of Christ."

Fr. Scott is correct; however, what has changed is his present SSPX General superior, Bishop Fellay, now says otherwise:

  SSPX Superior-General Bishop Fellay:
"Relations with the Vatican are already normal, and only the seal is missing on the agreement. This agreement is possible without waiting for the situation in the Church to become complete satisfactory." (Jan. 29, 2017)

But didn't Fr. Scott condemned a "political agreement"? He did. Regardless, Bishop Fellay expounded such a deal on Aug. 24, 2016 with some details:

"[ . . . ] Rome is offering us a new structure. At its head will be a bishop, chosen by the Pope from a list of three Society members, named by the Society. He will have authority over priests, over any religious wanting to join the new structure and over Catholics belonging to the new structure. These will have an absolute right to receive from Society priests all the sacraments, including marriage. This bishop will be able to set up schools and seminaries,
to ordain ( priests ), to establish new religious Congregations. The structure be like a super-diocese, independent of all local bishops. In other words, for you faithful, there will be no change from what you are already enjoying with the Society. The only difference will be that you will be officially recognized as Catholics.

"You can easily imagine that there will be clashes with the local bishops. So we must be prudent, but as things stand you cannot imagine anything better than this offer, which is such that you cannot think it is a trap. It is not a  trap , and if anyone makes us such an offer it can only be because he wishes us well . He wants Tradition to prosper and to flourish within the Church. It is impossible that such an offer could come from our enemies. They have many other ways to crush us, but not that way [ . . . ].

So what is, if any, of a doctrinal position the SSPX says they want a
negotiation to confirm the "political stamp"?

sspx.org, Jan. 2017- "I think we do not have to wait for everything to be resolved in the Church, for all the problems to be solved. But a certain number of conditions are necessary, and for us the essential condition is our survival. [Ed. note they did not say the faith] So I have told Rome, very clearly, that, just as + Lefebvre used to say in his day, we have a sine qua non condition:
if this condition is not met, then we will not move. And this condition is for us to be able to remain as we are, to keep all the principles that have kept us alive, that have kept us Catholic."

Bishop Fellay affirmed this in the same Jan. 29, 2017 interview, saying, "the agreement process is underway and that in order to arrive at a canonical solution there will be no need to wait for the situation within the Church to be “completely satisfactory” in the eyes of the Fraternity of St. Pius X."

Archbishop Pozzo stated on Feb. 3, 2017 that "As far as doctrinal issues are concerned, the main problems seem to have been overcome in view of an [political] agreement." In reason, the Fraternity was asked, and Bishop Fellay agreed, "to remain faithful to the essential aspects of being a Catholic, in other words the [1989] “professio fidei” (profession of faith), belief in the validity of the sacraments celebrated with the Novus Ordo (the liturgy that resulted from post-conciliar reform) and obedience to the Pope."  which sums up Bishop Fellay's sine qua non condition- "just accept us as we are".

  There's more.

Archbishop Pozzo also said in his interview Bishop Fellay agreed to any reservation he may have can be done AFTER their full reconciliation: "We are going in the right direction with the Lefebvrians." ... Accepted by the FSSPX, this is the central [Ed: and only] point of the discussion . The teachings of the Council have a different degree of authority, to which a different degree of adherence corresponds. Reservations, after full reconciliation, may be subject to reservations on matters that are not proper to the matter of faith, but rather to questions concerning the pastoral application of conciliar orientations and teachings, such as the relationship between the Church and (...) State, ecuмenism, interreligious dialogue or some aspects of the liturgical reform and its implementation. (...)

Shortly after on Feb. 2, 2017, Bishop Fellay gave a separate interview with Vida Nueva, who acknowledged that "there is no longer an insurmountable obstacle to a canonical recognition of the Fraternity". And emphasized that "Today and yesterday, the main obstacle is the degree of the obligation of adherence and practice to the Second Vatican Council," And lists: "The way in which ecuмenism is practiced, including statements very dangerous to the faith, [Ed. note he did not say against the faith; only very dangerous] that
make believe that all have the same faith; The liturgical question, or the  relationship between Church and State. These are all issues that we will not give in to. It is not a position or a personal point of view, or only of our congregation. We simply hold what the Church has already taught and defined in these matters.  We could sum up by saying that the conditio sine qua non is that Rome accepts us as we are ." [Ed: post 2012]

Comments:
And there we have it, Bishop Fellay gave the answer to remove this obstacle
for Rome only having to declare: "[they] Accept us as we are". That's it! The magical words.

Once done, the reports arrive:  SSPX-Vatican: "Two symbolic dates are mentioned in Rome: May 13, or July 7": May 13, 2017, centenary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal. Pope Francis will be, on the  latter day, on a pilgrimage [to Fatima]. Or, July 7, 2017, tenth anniversary of Benedict XVI's motu proprio that reestablished the Mass according to the 1962 Missal, called the Latin Mass, as well as Extraordinary rite [sic] in the Catholic Church.

I would believe Bishop Fellay would pick the May option to draw in the Blessed Mother by his false Rosary Crusade as he grossly did four other times; because he implied as such in his January 29, 2017 interview proclaimed on sspx.org.

Where is Fr. Peter Scott now?

Isn't it interesting that this is the typical liberal mentality, especially
socially or politically...so many of the fringe elements of modern society (homo^^^uals, tran===nder, the anaarchits, the sata##sts, the abor---nists, the feminists, etc) all just want to be 'accepted as they are'.

Perfect modernism.

No standing up for what is right. Happy with any scrap of recognition. Like a dog groveling for the crumbs from the table. No dignity for their position as priests of Our Lord Jesus Christ, as representatives of Archbishop Lefebvre, as the once titans of traditional Catholicism. Sad but at the same time one is grateful to no longer be associated with those who chose the son of the serving woman...
