ah...another sign of "progress" for Ireland....first, high tech jobs, then a rapid loss of faith, now hanking schemes,what next??

Is the Irish public accepting this? What prevents them all from just moving to other banks? I can't imagine anyone being comfortable with that policy, even those who don't handle a lot of cash.

That policy means that the bank will know immediately if they are setting up new accounts somewhere else. It also creates records of any jewelry or other "hard value" assetts they decide to aquire.
