So-called Frankenmeat made from processed soy is NOT healthy.  First of all, chemicals and artificial colors are used to make it appear red and have a consistency somewhat like hamburger meat.  Soy contains high amounts of estrogen.  A steady diet of it is not advisable except to women with a deficiency.  Too much estrogen causes cancers of the abdominal, reproductive, and mammary organs.  Tofu now and then is fine, and a spritz of soy sauce won’t write one’s death certificate, but constant ingestion of soy in its processed form is no better than fatty, cholesterol laden meat it is supposed to replace.

The fake frankenmeat tastes like crap anyway, nothing like the real thing. Unless you like beets, because that's primarily what it tastes like with some meat seasonings.

I actually think the veggie "chicken" nuggets are pretty good. They're made from chickpeas rather than soy, at least the ones I bought. There's also these chicken-veggie nuggets that I get for the kids that are pretty good too.

If they're going to take meat from us, well, I guess that makes the Friday abstinence that much easier :laugh1:

Yes. For many years most Christians didn’t eat any meat on any Friday including Lent.

If people would start being Christians everything.
