Being Catholic can be depressing

Just knowing most people you know are going to hell and there isn't much you can do about it.

Even disagreements among trads can be isolating. Still I would feel worse if I was without the truth.

I can certainly see where you are coming from. I think about this often. God gives everyone sufficient grace to save their souls.

Also, when I see this reality, I think of all my sins and what they deserve and then just turn to our Lady and pray for me and for all my family, friends and others who are weak in their faith or have none at all.

I pray especially the Rosary and the Sorrowful Mother Mary prayers, which is 7 meditations and 7 Hail Mary's in honor and reparation for each sorrow. There are powerful promises attached and help conversions and peace in the family.

The non Catholic people I know don't seem to pay the idea of hell or sin a single thought.
Liberals in particular really believe they are the most virtuous people...because of their tolerance
for every aberrant behavior and their commitment to social justice.

Yes, one might easily fall into depression if one dwells on it long enough, yet, because of Original Sin, it is our own free that we use to get either into heaven or into hell. We all have the same choice to make that you made, that I made, that we all have to make.

Remember what it says in Ecclesiasticus 15:18: "Before man is life and death, good and evil, that which he shall choose shall be given him."

On that subject there is Fr. Wathen in one of his sermons paraphrasing St. Theresa: "...Among all the mysteries that we live amongst, is that of the fact that God saves those whom He wills. And yet those who are lost are lost because they will. No one is saved against his will and no one is damned against his will..."

The last sentence is what is. Hard tho it may be to accept, those in hell are there because they chose to go there. IMO, not one soul is there by accident, each and every person in hell, in one way or another chose to go there.

So?  Life without Faith is much, much worse.
