Worst part is that the picture of Moran next to Cardinal Slipyj was photoshopped, and those letters from Ukrainian Catholic Bishop Borecky regarding Moran's consecration by Slipyj and Borecky are forgeries. People contacted the Ukrainian Catholics, who denied any knowledge of Moran, and Moran's "consecration" does not appear on catholic-hierarchy.org at all. At that point, nothing that he says can be believed, even if he did somehow photo-bomb certain events to make himself look legit (if many of those are not also photoshopped).
Well, on second thought, the worst part is that Fathers Pfeiffer and Hewko did not do some very simple due diligence to verify Moran's claims. They could have easily called the Ukrainian Catholics themselves: "Hello, there's a gentleman here by the name of Ambrose (aka William) Moran who claims to have been consecrated by Cardinal Slipyj and Bishop Borecky. Do you have any record of this?" Would have been a 5-minute phone call and then some time to allow them to research it and send a response. Evidently the salvation of souls was not worth that much effort on their part. He's possibly a valid bishop through some Orthodox lines, but after the fraud is exposed, none of that can be believed either.
