My friend (God daughter) she said that the SSPX reviewed a recording of this priests novus ordo ordination and concluded it was performed correctly.  I told her that the problem is that the "bishop" in the novus ordo was not a bishop since the new ordo consecration of a bishop is not valid.

So, that isn't even consistent with the SSPX narrative, where it's about the bishop's intention rather than about determining whether it had been done "correctly".

Obviously we cannot prove that the consecration is invalid ... since there are some who would dispute it, and so it would require a final decision by the (actual Catholic) Holy See, but there's CLEARLY positive doubt.  Even the SSPX priest who put out the video defending their practice admitteed that it's very different.  THAT ALONE suffices to establish positive doubt.  Period.

There's no reason not to conditonally ordain, since the changes to the Rites clearly reach the threshold of establishing a prudent (i.e. a non-negative and not irrational doubt), which is all that's needed to justify a CONDITIONAL ordination.

As I pointed out, they deliberately conflated the notion that repeating an ordination would be sacrilege with the question of whether a CONDITIONAL ordination would be justified.

AND, when you weight the worst that could happen if we're wrong (waste of time doing a conditional) vs. the worse that could happen if they're wrong (invalid Sacrament and the eternal loss of souls) ... it's a no brainer.  If they were at all honest, they'd admit that they were twisting their logic to make it fit with their desire to continue their talks with the Modernists, and my hope is that now that those have been scuttled, they'll snap out of it.

His name is Fr. Kowalewski who is replacing Fr. Anderson - who is going to Los Gatos,CA. Fr. Anderson is currently assigned to the chapels in Mancelona, MI and Bay City, MI so it seems likely that's where this new NO priest will end up.

I could be wrong but far as I know, it has not been confirmed that he is not conditionally ordained.
There will be a reception for Fr. Michael Kowalewski after the 9 am Mass next Sunday. Fr. Kowalewski will be arriving this week to join the Priests’ Training Program.

I remember following Fr Zigrang's story as it emerged in The Remnant back in 2003.

I visited that chapel a few years after Fr Zigrang joined the SSPX, being on a trip with a former Society priest.
I remember him telling me that he met Fr Zigrang in the rectory.

Fast forward to around 2013. I was acquainted with a family who would host Masses by Bp Williamson in their home at times.
While I was visiting with the family (Bp Williamson was not present) while speaking on things going on, somehow Fr Zigrang came up.
The couple proceeded to tell me that Bp Williamson had conditionally ordained Fr Zigrang.  I had no reason to not believe them.

I am not writing this and expecting people to just take my word.
For myself, if I were to actually meet Fr Zigrang in person, in private, I would ask him directly-"I was told by so-and-so that you were conditionally ordained in the Old Rite by Bp Williamson.  Can you confirm that for me."

Yes, it's worth asking ... since +Williamson had no issues with conditional ordinations.  Problem is that SSPX has been loathe to release that information since +Williamson has passed away.  We had that Father Trinh, later Bishop, who had to get conditionally ordained a second time because +Fellay refused to release a confirmation of it.

Yes, I am familiar with Fr Trinh and his situation, God rest his soul..

When he separated from the Society, a group was interested in having him as their priest.
They wanted proof that he was conditionally ordained.
So, Fr Trinh wrote Bp Fellay-no response.
He wrote one of the higher ups at Econe-no response.
Finally, he wrote the US District Superior.
Well, for whatever reason(maybe just because it would only cost the price of 1 US stamp) he got a response from him.
The Superior sidestepped the question at hand, to provide Fr Trinh with his certificate, and had the gall to tell him that if the group he has contact with needs a priest, that this group should contact the SSPX and perhaps they could help them out.

While he eventually was again conditionally ordained by Bp Slupski, and then Consecrated, some time after that group showed interest, a family member found the photos 📸 of Fr Trinh's conditional ordination.
The picture shows Fr Trinh  in a folded Chausable  kneeling before Bp Fellay, who is in Pontificals. This only happens when a man is being ordained to the priesthood.

It was too late for Fr Trinh to work with that group, but was furthur vindication of his claim.

May his priestly soul rest in peace.
