Since they started making deals with the modernists and kicking Bishop Williamson out, I have always remarked on what a cult they were.
At home with neither the modernists they were trying to "convert", nor the resistance which was actually fighting for the faith, they could only turn inwards. And it is which made them a cult.
Everything was about them, about their Masses. Outside the SSPX no salvation.
Now with the excommunication they have finally got a punishment for this self delusion, and I could see them go the way of the St. Benedict center. Out on their own.
But Rome probably wants to toy with them more. Whatever take the attention away from the Resistance and its Bishops.
Hey Tom,
I hope that you're doing ok. I think you'll find
this series of articles on meekness from the Father Coleridge reader really helpful. I know they've helped me immensely this past week which hasn't been without its challenges.
It is important to remember that none of the "traditional" groups have a mission from the Church, nor do the modernists.
Only the Eastern Rites continue Apostolic Succession, with the Roman Rite orders being rendered doubtful. The situation we're in is pretty dire. The kind of behaviour you're exhibiting right now isn't really helpful to anyone and is harmful to your own spiritual life.
Sectarianism is a fruit of the flesh and not the spirit. We are all Catholics and need to practice meekness and charity when interacting with eachother because most of what we believe is the same, and there are differences of opinion permitted by Holy Mother Church on certain issues.
We are supposed to be living the life of Heaven here right now with Heaven being a continuance of this life. Take some time to reflect on that and ask yourself, would I behave like I have above in Heaven?
Be at peace with your neighbours and love them as Christ does.
