Recent Fr. Wegner visit to SSPX chapel in San Antonio

  • Today I spoke with some parishioners who still attend Mass there.

Fr. Wegner made a recent visit to the San Antonio chapel, and gave a talk in the hall after Mass.

During this talk, he insisted that many Novus Ordo bishops aren't so bad, etc. I wish someone could have recorded it for me, but unfortunately I don't have a recording or even a transcript. Suffice to say that many red flag items were uttered, such as taking down the defcon level on our attitude towards the Novus Ordo and their bishops.

Talk about yet more evidence that the SSPX has changed its tune -- both at the chapels themselves ("on the ground") and at the highest levels. Fr. Wegner is currently the District Superior of the USA. He's not "just one priest". He is in charge of the entire American district.
And he's preaching this to the people in the pews in San Antonio.

Good thing I don't subject my family to that un-Traditional rhetoric. I want my kids to grow up Trad. Hence why I can't go to Mass there anymore. It's nothing against Fr. Zigrang (who is returning, by the way, any day now if he's not there already). But Fr. Zigrang works for the SSPX, who I eminently distrust. And the evidence for why I shouldn't trust them is legion.

I don't attend the Novus Ordo due to the unacceptable risk it poses to my Faith and that of my family. Since the SSPX is beginning the process of cozying-up to the demonic confusion and destruction of Vatican II, I can't subject myself or my family to them either. They have lost the status of "good guys".

Any position more moderate than "Vatican II was a complete disaster. It was a punishment from God. The entire council, with all its documents, must be unceremoniously burned and forgotten" is unacceptable.

Anything less than "Vatican II is completely to be avoided, as a subtle, demonic super-heresy" is unacceptable. Speaking any kinder than that about Vatican II is a huge red flag meaning: "get out while you can!"

  • Did he say they were "nithe guys" ?
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • Perhaps the red light position has some merit?

Resistance priests that I have met think so. And I am not referring to Fr Pfeiffer.

  • Not very 'nithe' priests and bishop in Knock yesterday when the sspx pilgrimage was refused  permission to say Mass even in a tent on the grounds. :fryingpan:

  • There have always been Society priests and laity getting on their hands and knees to please diocesan elements (even Anglican) as though recognition from them was a key to existence. Going round like lepers was for me very off-putting and indicated serious flaws in the conviction of some trads. I am afraid they still suffer from the notion that it is only the Mass that matters; the rest is subjective interpretation and questions of taste. Fr. Wegner would not be out of place fifty years ago preparing his pre-conciliar flock with some enthusiasm for the horrors to come.

  • Someone should tell those at Knock, that the Mass being offered during the time of the Catholic Church apparitions was the true Mass; not Novus Ordo.

  • Part of the Trad charter is to avoid Vatican II and the New Mass completely -- complete aloofness -- regardless of being able to find a substitute. That involves avoiding the Conciliar Church completely, with all its priests, bishops, and pope. We don't pay much attention to any of them, until THEY convert. And yes we will most certainly know when they've converted -- when they begin to burn the documents of Vatican II and condemn Modernism, Freemasonry, Talmudic Judaism, Feminism, etc. we will just know.

    It's not that complicated.

Real Trad Catholics have no truck with the Conciliar Church -- that includes begging for -- or accepting -- permission to attend the Tridentine Mass. Real Trads know that we don't need permission from any MERE MAN to attend the Mass which alone will increase and nourish our Faith -- the Mass of All Time. We have the permission AND THE COMMAND from God Himself to work out our salvation and save our souls. Quo Primum gives us permission for all time to attend the real Mass. 100% of Trads deserving to be called Trads know and understand this.

There's a difference between someone who is conservative or "prefers the Latin Mass" and a Traditional Catholic.

  • Fides ex auditu.  "Our sound must go out through all the earth, and our words to the end of the world".   We are doing that, but what is our message?  As far as I can tell, our message is to pray and prepare for a great chastisement.  And, don't tell me that is the spirit of that scriptural passage, because the gospel means good news.

Newchurch will not convert unless they are converted.  And, last I recall, +Williamson says it is not his mission to convert the Pope or the NO.  And, that it takes a "special kind of soul" to realize such.  That, I fundamentally disagree with.  There is no reason to preserve or hold onto traditions that were of an age blind to and inferior to the forces that took over the church.  The pope is the head, and we have lost him.  Chop off my hand or pluck out my eye.  Too many trads do not seem to be interested in converting popes.

Next, none of what I just said means we need to take the course the neo sspx is taking.  Converting the pope cannot be done "approved".  Because, priests and bishops need to preach against v2, and that will not happen in the dioceses.  And, it must be a pope who stands up to reverse the wrongs of V2.   Convert the unconverted we must.  And, convert in this sense is a verb.  It is an action.

  • Yes.  Quo Primum.

And we are supposed to spread the gospel and convert people.  That's what Catholics do.

  • Were forced to say the Rosary on the street, and were "followed" by security everywhere they went. The Resistance Pilgrimage also went ahead, but we had to pick another route for the Rosary procession as there was a Novus Ordo procession on at the same time, with an outside megaphone shouting, nay ROARING the prayers so we had to go elsewhere. We also had Stations of the Cross, but we were using the horrible modernist stations with the bare metal crosses. By the way has anyone here ever seen the Apparition site that is Knock:
    First: "The Basillica":

What an appropriate name for the town "Knock" - someday this hideous structure will be knocked to the ground. Incidentally, 4 years ago the altar was replaced in the Basillica and when they took out the previous altar the were greeted by a swarm of rats underneath.

    Next Modern appartion Church:
