I'm not on the mailing list, but the CDs were available for anyone interested at our chapel.

In Phoenix too, mention was made of the CDs being in the bookstore.  I don't know if they are giving them away or selling them.

Wow. They've really tried going out of their way this time. I got a giant packet from the SSPX, including fancy CDs of Father Themann's talks, and even a summary and a long letter from Bishop Fellay. Anyone else get this garbage (cause that's where it went?)

It would be your call to estimate the funding required to undertake this
initiative.  If the CDs had color images printed on them and came in
'jewel' cases with glossy fold-out indexes they may have run up to $2 or
$3 to produce.  Then with the printed material, another dollar or two,
so you could be up to $10 or $15, plus postage -- that would be close
to $20.  Then times it by the mailing list, what, 2,000 recipients, and
that could be $40,000 to send out a promo for more money, basically.

If they can't impress you with sound teaching (then they would make
themselves look like Resistance priests!) they resort to pompous the
windbag approach, you know, so at least you can think you're getting
SOMETHING for your money!

Those on the Regina Coeli mailing list will receive it.

So that is where everyone's money is going.  The funds from Fr. Rostand's "2013 Lenten Appeal"...  Support us, so we can "support" your chapel.

Remember the slogan: "You need your chapel --  And your chapel needs you" appeal?

 http://www.cathinfo.com/catholic.php/Fr-Rostand-2013-Lenten-Appeal-Letter

There was more --
"I know you want to do all you can to help your chapel, so as an extra incentive, I'm offering you unique packages as my way of saying "thank you" for your support (please see insert for photos and descriptions)."

And --
"P.S.: Your gift needs to be post marked no later than April 30, 2013 in order to be eligible for these special offers!"

Evidently too many didn't 'make it' by April 30th, and, sadly, too many
never 'made it' at all.  That's because they were never 'sent' ........  :)

So, consequently, Fr. Rostand had stockpiles leftover, which he doesn't
want to become outdated, so he's doing the PR re-branding thing and
sending it out for PR purposes.  Only the PR people didn't figure we
would be onto this scheme.  Plus, remember, their service doesn't come
with any guarantees.  They rely entirely on the success of their past
clients to promote their own credibility.  Remember:  they didn't want
the SSPX to be a "blemish" on their reputation.

As one of their former clients said, "You cain't always git what you
want."
And he was a Brit, using an American accent!  (joke)

But seriously,

I would return the 'giant packet'.

Good idea.  Write on there: "Thanks but no thanks -- P.S.  I want my
money back."

In the more "controversial" chapels the package is being given away, in some others they'll try to make a buck or two.

Nevertheless this is not directed for those on the Regina Coeli mailing list only, but for the general public as well. What a waste of money with such a pile of...

Reminds me of Brother Dimond of the Holy Family Monastery.
He has an agenda and produced and gave away many free DVDs.
No on has figured out where he got the money to do this?
