In any case, I'm in no position to judge the biases of each side. While you might blame this Bill for the situation, it sounded like Bishop Ballini wasn't really in Fr. Hoopes' corner, nor was +Zendejas. This would hardly be the case if this the whole thing was just about Bill going sedevacantist.
Perhaps he has and perhaps the mystery future priests is currently CMRI.
There have long been battles between priests and lay boards over property, and the SSPX notoriously strong-arms the faithful, whereas Boards often overstep their bounds by telling the priests what to do from a spiritual standpoint, though the temporal/financial can sometimes overlap with the spiritual.
About this particular dispute, I know very little and will not weigh in with any kind of uninformed opinion, since it's likely that both disputants entertain some bias favoring their own position or perspective.
But the key problem for me, the elephant in the room, is Hoopes' dabbling in and justifying of "white magic" ... along with the book. I'd like to hear more about that. Cabbage/Hoopes here blew it off as being thrown in just for effect ... but methinks that doesn't suffice. Either Father said what he did about "white magic" and ordered the book, or he did not do both or either of those things.
Outside of the property / theological dispute that we'll not get any definitive straight answers to here, these things that stand unanswered:
