Cathinfo Nominations for the next SSPX Superior General

  • Consider that the SSPX's Politburo style governance is failing and Fr. Pagliarani has suffered a near fatal credibility blow.

Who then would you nominate (inside the SSPX) to turn the Order back to it's original mission as outlined by +ABL ?

Using St. John Neumann, Bishop of Philadelphia, as the administrative model of wisdom and Holiness, which SSPX priest would you nominate for the SG?

Please suggest a candidate and give your reasons.  A show of support, (thumbs-up or down), will get your candidate into the Cathinfo Straw Poll.

  • Father Herve de La Tour

    Reasons for the nomination:

    1. All though he did not resist Bp. Fellay's betrayals of +ABL, he remained quiet and reserved about the crisis, doing his best at his post.
    2. He's a teacher and guide by nature, who has demonstrated practical judgement and advice with the SSPX faithful.
(I have a personal experience going back to 2001).
    3. He is experienced in administration, having served as the first head of St. Mary's KS.
    4. He has a French military background, (special forces?) and is of a resilient character.
    5. His demeanor is humble, contemplative, boarding on monastic.

  • BISHOP ZENDEJAS  !
Cos, I have to apply a thumbs down because, to be honest, we don't see much leadership out of this US Bishop.
Where is he by the way?

I feel that he could do a lot of good toward unifying Traditional Catholics since his articulation of the crisis is very palatable even to sedevacantists ... except for the fringe dogmatic types who are pleased with no one but themselves.  You’d see many SVs returning to the SSPX and you’d have very few SVs leaving SSPX in pursuit of SVism.  I actually prefer his position to straight SVism.

He seems very prudent and rational.

I strongly believe that Bishop Williamson should consecrate him.

You have a very good point Incred, he keeps a low profile alright, but the one time I met him was for about a four hour meeting where he had the floor the whole time, I will say that imo, he was probably the most orthodox cleric I ever met with and could be an outstanding Catholic leader, which is why I agree with cosmas.

Well, the few people that know him recommend him highly, but, yes, he's so low-profile that those people are so few and far between.

You know, I was reading Bishop Sanborn's newsletter at the seminary, and he was talking about how much they use the internet, where priests conduct catechism sessions online.  He was talking about professors teaching classes at the seminary remotely.  Resistance priests should perhaps look into that as well.  You can reach a large number of people scattered around the country with technology.  You could get an account at gotomeeting.com for about $16 per month and host unlimited live interactive sessions with up to 250 people on each meeting.  You wouldn't have to drive or fly around the country to have conferences and catechetical lessons.

Although all those good qualities are true, his health is not up for the task. The job of S.G. would be too stressful for him.

That’s just what St. John Neumann said, but they still made him a Bishop.
In 10 years, he built 80 parishes!
Thanks for your positive comments though!

    A good recommendation.
The Bishop is in the “catacombs mode”, while the SSPX is in the world.
I’d hoped we could keep the nominees limited to the bro-SSPX.

  • remember for the SSPX to become Catholic again they would have to renounce the 4 agreements they already made with Rome. Something they have not yet done.

  • The SS Pixie I believe is too far gone. Too much compromise, too much conciliar wine (which is poison)  consumed.

Fr Chazal would make another excellent Resistance Bishop.

    That was laugh-out-loud funny.

For the record, so does he.
