  • We are not in Post Falls.  The chapel I was referring to is near Seattle, Washington.

I did not mean to cause confusion.  I did not post it because I felt we deserved an apology.  I was just trying to let people know the attitude toward the Resistance priests and especially toward Bishop Williamson.

The good news is that many more people showed up for the Stations of the Cross this past Friday.

I received a handwritten reply next day from Fr. Johnson.  I will not reveal the full contents of his short letter.  Suffice to say, he offered no disclaimers or clarifications.  He did not assure me that his words from the pulpit had not been directed at bvmknight and her family.  Rather he chided the two priests and Bp. Williamson for failure to keep "solemn promises of obedience."  Maybe Father felt that the best defense is a good offense; I don't know.  In any case, what he reportedly said to bvmknight by way of explanation, he did not say to me.

If wrong, I would always encourage a person to apologise. I wouldn't grovel to SSPX  clergy. With respect to them they know more than they are letting on.  Anybody who challenges will be regarded as "disobedient".  It's only natural they will close ranks to save face for their pious union. They know something is wrong but will close ranks to protect themselves.

A priest should do what is right and oppose what is wrong.

Yes, they all know that something is wrong.  But, nevertheless, they close ranks, as you say.  It's the 'my-country-right-or-wrong' atttitude.  These priests exhibit a misplaced and ill-advised 'patriotism,' IMO

It's not a bad thing to close ranks but I don't accept the priests don't know what is going on. Like the laity, they are either for an agreement or not. I realise many will stick with Bishop Fellay no matter what.

At this stage I think priests like Fr Pfeiffer need our support. It's positive that an organic resistance has emerged.

It's always good news for more attendees for Stations.  They might be getting
into the swing for Holy Week - it's next week, you know...

It would be nice to have any fog cleared up before Holy Week, but that could be
a long shot, by the looks of things.
