I very rarely post.  But I read alot here and elsewhere.  And one thing I do not see is anyone pointing out that before we get the Mark and the Antichrist that it serves, we get the Two Witnesses.  And they are world famous, the Bible makes that clear, they are not hidden.  They are God's Prophets and they sift the Faithful from the lost, they draw the line in the sand so that when the Mark comes out there is no doubt it is the Mark.  God would not condemn those with the Mark if He hadn't given them very, very clear information to recognise it if they chose to listen.  I do believe the Graphen, the Hydras, the Nano Bots and rest of it are the foundation stone for the Mark, but as yet they are not the complete system that will be the Mark.  The next stage in this must be the Two Witnesses appearing, has to be.  God would not leave us to be devoured as it appears is happening right now.  The Church is hidden right now, and we have no means of knowing God's Will in a clear way...and that is not how God works.  He comes last minute, He tests your courage and devotion that way...but He always shows very clearly and without doubt the true path...and at the minute everything is confused and a fudge and the priests and Faithful are in chaos.

That raises an interesting question regarding the Mark:

Can the faithful be duped/deceived into taking it (ie., not knowing it is the Mark), or, will all make their choice with full knowledge?

I don’t know the answer.  What do the theologians and exegetes teach?

The tradition from Scripture and the interpretations in the Fathers, is that you cannot take the Mark unknowingly - God does send the Two Witness specifically to gather the Faithful together and clearly point out God's Will in preparation for the onslaught.  Before the Witnesses you have the great apostasy and the false Catholic Church and the fake Prophet, etc.  We are clearly still in that stage.  But I would suggest it cannot last much longer or we will all be lost to Truth - I mean look at the absolute mayhem amongst those who call themselves Catholic (and I'd suggest that title means nothing in any context right now).  And look at the plans to eradicate humanity and all nature through GM modification.  If He stays hidden, as He has for later half of 20th century, then there ain't going to be anything to save.  To sum up - logic, tradition and Scripture make it clear God's Will is very clearly manifested before the Mark is instigated, and that causes the Beast to be riled and come out of hiding and attack those who follow the Two Witness - and some of those who follow the Witnesses become the 144, 000, the rest are martyred.
