Abortion is just the logical conclusion of a contraceptive mentality. Could we not move the Overton Window in our direction by having a commercial not against abortion but against contraception? After the initial shock, there would be a public debate on family, demographics, the reconnection of the reproductive act to ...... reproduction. Imagine ?
All contraceptives (and even sterilization short of castration) can fail, and what then?
That's why TPTB want abortion choice.
Think about it --- the contraceptive fails, and then you have one of two scenarios. Either the couple (or even the woman by herself, if the baby daddy isn't in the picture for whatever reason) welcomes an "oops baby", and makes a big-to-do about it, or she/they find out that a pregnancy has occurred, they get hold of some pills or a willing doctor, and nobody ever knows.
Those are the people who, even though they may not be outspoken abortion advocates, act funny whenever the topic of unwanted pregnancy comes up, and when election time rolls around, vote for pro-choice candidates because, well, it's self-justifying.
As a kind of aside, ever notice how many women nowadays look alike, and have a certain physical appearance, full bosoms, kind of moon-like faces, thick middles, thick legs and calves, corpulent posteriors, and that thing with either the long, straight, glossy hair or a "Karen" bob? It's as though they're stamped out of cookie cutters. Aside from the hair (which is purely a style choice), I have to wonder if this is the effect of using birth control pills and, essentially, tricking their bodies into thinking they're continuously pregnant, instead of simply too much of a fondness for biscuits and gravy.
