  • Has anyone else noticed the declining quality of articles on LifeSiteNews? (LSN banned me from commenting on their articles, after I mentioned the Jєωιѕн role in abortion promotion.)

LifeNews.com is far better for pro-life news articles.

  • They seem to be pandering to a specific demographic of the "conservative Novus Ordo" niche. I think there's still some decent articles here and there, but I was also never an avid reader of LifeSite anyway. LifeNews looks pretty good, I'll add them to my bookmarks.

Yes, now that you mention it, they're getting kind of lame.  (Oops... politically incorrect word there... able-ist bias coming through...)

No one can be all things to all men.  (More political incorrectness there... now it's sexism...)

I don't view them as a major source of news, but I do subscribe to their daily newsletter, now that you mention it, it's become kind of a time suck with me, that and Epoch Times.  Church Militant (no one is neutral towards Mike and Milo, you either love them or you hate them) is a little more compelling.  I'd love to go to that little shindig in Baltimore that's coming up, too far away to drive, family here that is reliant upon me, no money to fly, too much hassle even if I did.  I'm sure there will be coverage.

Milo is such a mixed bag for me. I had to unfollow him on Gab because he was being so uncharitable about midwesterners. At times he seems like a Catholic, especially given that he's supposedly turned away from his sodomitical lifestyle, but other times he really plays the Jєω and trolls everyone.

I think some of his articles on CM have been pretty good.

  • Mercy!  I was banned as well, but that was a good 15 years ago or more.  Lifesitenews said how Bishop Olmsted of Phoenix dioceses was so pro-life. Dressed him up they did.  My comment was ALL dioceses Bishops are not pro-life or bring life to their table.  All dioceses have catholic charities and they support abortion.

  • I read, perhaps I misread, that Lifesitenews has partial Opus connections, via cofounding by Opus Dei member Steve Jalsevac, presentday or at least recent managing director.

Where Milo is concerned, you have to take him for what he is, and as they always tell you, when they're trying to gaslight you about abusive speech by others, "consider the source".  He's outrageous and he means to be.  (Not suggesting his speech is abusive towards any of us here, just using the concept.)  He is basically a flamboyant, somewhat bitchy gαy guy.  He's declared himself to be celibate, and that's much of the battle won, but I seriously doubt he's ever going to be the kind of guy who fires off rounds, eats greasy cheeseburgers and fries, and smashes beer cans on his forehead.  If gαy people can just cut out the sodomy --- as he claims he has, and I believe him --- I can cut them a lot of slack.  Milo, like all of us, is a work in progress.

I was reading the CM conference speakers' list this evening, and believe me, I'd be there if I could.  Get a cozy suite in a hotel downtown, take my family, make sure my son has his Wi-Fi, make sure my mother has her daytime TV, boiled eggs, sausage biscuits and coffee... no, not workable, but it'd be nice if it were.

  • LifeSiteNews does seem to be a bit weak on the old JQ -- their Achilles' heel and fatal flaw, actually.

Truth really is a PACKAGE DEAL -- compromise or fail in one part, you fail in the whole thing, ultimately. Truth hangs together. If you're going to get one foundational issue so DEAD WRONG, how can you not make other quite serious errors down the line?

  • Don't read them. I unsubscribed when they did the dirty on our Matthew. I don't even read them if someone posts them here. :fryingpan:
