Pro top. In my state it's illegal to sell raw milk as a consumption product, so they sell it as a cosmetic one "bath milk'.

I am looking forward to trying it in the coming weeks. Does anyone here have experience drinking raw milk?

We get 3 gallons of raw milk a week for our family of 5 (going on 6).  It tastes very different from ultra-pasterized store milk, especially the cream quantity and quality.

In VA we get "milk shares" in order for it to be legal.  Basically, you own a share of the cow.

How much does it cost? I can get 2 liters for $18 AUD ($12 USD) so it's pricey...

  • We have our own dairy cows, we used to do herdshares for 46 families! Now we have 9 families and at the end of the month we are dropping all of them. It is so much work hence the price. A gallon is $9 when we started we were at $7.50, it’s break even, definitely not an income producer which we were hoping for so my husband wouldn’t have to work off the farm. Raw milk is the best!

I do and it is fantastic. The taste and health benefits are amazing. You need to be exercising because if you are sedentary, you can gain some weight.

I tried it once.  It didn’t bother me.  It tasted much better too.  I’m lactose intolerant.

I keep telling my husband that we need is only one milking cow.  He grew up with dairy cows and grew grains and veggies. (He doesn’t miss them.)

Milk and honey.  maybe sheep or goat milk.
May God bless you and keep you

Rather than comparing to the price of the lower-quality typical product, it helps to consider cost in terms of tradeoffs and the real value of what you're getting.

With raw milk, the benefits would be superior nutrition and stamina, plus giving support to local farmers so they can continue in an adverse market.

There's the saying, "Pay the farmer now or pay the pharmacist later." (Though I'd avoid the pharmacist completely if possible. :laugh1:)
Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you, all things pass away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things. He who has God finds he lacks nothing; God alone suffices. - St. Teresa of Jesus

  • I’ve been a long time Sally Fallon/WAPF devotee for awhile now.

We try to do as little processed foods as possible, soak grains, eat at least a couple fermented foods per day, drink raw milk, etc, etc.

We have dairy goats and our family thrives on the milk. We don’t pasteurize it.

I’ve had 3 babies that I’ve had difficulty nursing so I use the nourishing traditions raw milk formula. It requires a lot of ingredients and a certain time investment because you have to make your own whey from homemade yogurt or kefir. They have all thrived on it and have never been seriously ill. We also follow their recommendation for babies first foods to be pastured soft boiled egg yolks followed by grass fed beef liver. Very little to no grains until 2.
Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.

  • The price of raw milk varies widely by region. I sell our goat milk for $8/gallon. I buy cows milk from the neighbor for $6/gallon. Neither of us sell dairy as a main form of income so we don’t have the expense of keeping up a grade A dairy. We are just happy to offset the cost of feed while we supply our own family with lots of milk.

Your children are very blessed to have parents who try to give them a healthy diet.
My father grew up on a farm, he said that they would always boil the raw milk first as it wasn't healthy and was too strong (can give diarrhoea) and that humans need human milk not cow milk. How do you consume the milk? I am unsure if he is right or wrong.
