Full Physical Exertion
« on: April 15, 2026, 05:40:31 PM »
This is what I would recommend to all Catholic men.

My life consists of laying, standing in place, and sitting for most of the time I'm awake & asleep. To combat this, I've devoted myself to intensive physical labor as long as I have a free 20-30 minutes to do so. I was not doing this beforehand, I was doing decline push ups on my floor, side planks, tricep raises with my 40lb dumbbells, curls and squats. I would accomplish these over a day. Now I do more intense physical labor, paying me in only my health, where I will go outside on the grass, do dumbbell push ups, squats, run, leg raises, tricep extensions, and sit ups. I do as much as my body will allow in a short, compact set. I believe this is better for cardio, definitely a morale boost, as well as testosterone. Sometimes I do side planks off the trunk of my car (a bmw, about 3 1/2 feet elevation) for a few seconds. For having little gym equipment and having to improvise I'd say I'm doing pretty good. Hitting a cold shower afterwards, since my body temperature is high, makes me immune to the coldness while receiving all the benefits. As well as slowing my heart rate down considerably after a set. It is scary. Growth is scary. I am getting used to it, I hope this post was insightful and gave you some good ideas on what you can implement in your day to day life. I have increased meat consumption considerably.

Hard work can improve mood, sleep quality, reduce depression. Cold showers help too.

If you lead a physically sedentary life, it is definitely necessary to add vigorous exercise, cardio, strength, and flexibility.  There are any number of ways to do this, join a gym, take up a sport, do your own home, lawn, and auto repair and maintenance. Take a side job that involves these activities. One of my nephews works part time in the stock room of Costco.
The ladies, too need ample exercise, suitable for optimal female fitness.
Keeping active is good for everyone.

Make sure your cardio is in good shape, too.
