I see there are no posts about this 'scandal' in Ireland. The story is that hundreds of babies' and childrens' skeletons were found buried in mass unmarked graves outside of Catholic order run homes for mothers and babies. The narrative that the public is being led to believe is that the babies and children were tortured and/or neglected to the point of death by nuns and then dumped into sewage tanks like old garbage. Whether or not this is fact, I don't know. But I think that this scandal has definitely played a part in the repeal of the 8th amendment that happened some 2 weeks ago. How will people take a prolife institution serious if members of that same institution are committing seriously grave acts? And the sɛҳuąƖ abuse horror? I doubt these things have left the peoples' minds.
And its true, some members doing evil doesn't know mean the entire institution is rotten. But you know how dumb human nature can be. The entire population is blamed for the actions of a few. I honestly feel that the church in Ireland is dying. And it definitely has itslef to partly blame.
