What would you think of a visionary who ate earth (mud), drank muddy water and smeared it on her face?

The crowd watching at the time were shocked and disgusted and her own practicing Catholic mother beat her.

Hardly matters.  She was verifiably wrong about the Joey Lomangino prophecy.  So either it was not Our Lady telling her or Conchita is an unreliable witness.  And if she is unreliable about a simple thing, then why trust her on global warnings and chastisements?

Credibility matters.  Scripture says to test a prophet by their prophecy.  (Not to mention that common sense suggests the same thing)

Get it right or go home.

And the local bishop there rejected/condemned the apparition, while the Vatican rejected appeals of his decision.  So that's the end of it as far as I'm concerned.
