Mel Gibson’s elderly father – famous for questioning the size of the h0Ɩ0cαųst – is reportedly claiming elder abuse at the hands of his younger wife.
Hutton Gibson, 93, filed divorce papers last week to end his 10-year marriage to Teddy Joye.
He claims his wife has been abusing him while he’s seriously ill and taking a slew of medications, TMZ.com reported.
Joye, 78, allegedly believes her husband’s family is prolonging his life unnecessarily and wants to discontinue the meds to accelerate his death, TMZ said.
She has clashed with her famous son-in-law over the position, TMZ said, and the “Braveheart” star has reportedly rushed to his dad’s aid, ensuring he’s getting all the prescribed drugs.
Hutton Gibson cited “irreconcilable differences” in his divorce filing, which he signed with a shaky signature.
The disillusioned World War II vet and arch-conservative Catholic had 10 children with his first wife in New York before moving the family to Australia with winnings from the TV game show “Jeopardy!”The couple adopted another child in Australia, and Gibson married Joye in 2002 after his first wife’s death.
When Hutton Gibson spoke to New York Times Magazine in 2003 and questioned historical accounts that six million Jews died in the h0Ɩ0cαųst, Joye "cheerfully piped in" with support.
