Hurricane coming for Texas!

Glad I live inland -- though we're supposed to have some serious wind here this Saturday.  35-45 MPH gusting to 60 MPH!

Ike is going to be quite a doozy.

Here is our forecast:
Quote

Friday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 78. Windy, with a northeast wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to between 30 and 35 mph. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.

Saturday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 84. Windy, with a north northwest wind between 35 and 45 mph, with gusts as high as 60 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

I will pray for all. I have not watched too much news today. Are they calling for evacuations on the scale of New Orleans a couple weeks ago?

It's pretty scary when you have the "H" (standing for hurricane) so far inland!

Fortunately the "H" is several dozen miles from where I live, but we're still supposed to have some decent wind and rain.

We can't even stay home that night, because my step-brother-in-law is getting married. (Yes, I said step-brother-in-law. It's my wife's step-brother)
