When my eldest was around four years, we went to Mass on Christmas Day, and one older lady, as she walked down the aisle after Mass, asked him "and what did Santa bring you for Christmas?" He just looked at her blankly as if to say, "What are you talking about?"
She looked a little embarrassed, and made some comment to me about not doing Santa Claus.
We didn't do Santa in my childhood home and my children were not initiated into that business either. We did have gift giving though.
This will probably be our children one day...

We got little treats for their stocking for the feast of Saint Nicholas. I never got around to putting them in. So, the boys got to help me divide them, put them in their stockings and then eat them while watching the old Catholic CCC movie of "Nicholas the boy who became Santa".
