I think we should do a poll to see whether more people would prefer [...] chitlins and a Colt 45.
Chitlins and Colt 45 are poor American black mans food.
Indeed. Does OHCA
really believe that blacks' consumption of
chitlins (more formally "chitterlings")--intestines--was a matter of
choice? After slaughtering livestock or wild game, the whites they typically worked for [†] took the better parts, so innards and other parts like heads, feet, and tails were what blacks became accustomed to having left for their own meals. More than a century of an amazingly positive attitude developed it into "soul food".
Let's at least compare
stereotypes on approximately the same social level, shall we?
Fried chicken and
collard greens, with
watermelon for desert. You wouldn't be one of those readers who uses a knife & fork to eat fried chicken, would you, OHCA?
How about Bahamian Conch chowder and a Kalik
Thumbs up to the
Kalik, which offers a regular-strength brew and a significantly higher-strength brew, both quite tasty.
[....] or Jamaican jerked chicken and a Red Stripe?
You were doing well, Last Tradhican, until you mentioned
Red Stripe. Ugh. Instead of tasting hops--even faintly--I found instead an unidentifiable source of staleness [‡].
But
Guinness seems to sell well to
Jamaican immigrants here in central Florida, even during the worst of the 1/2-year summer here. It's certainly not a beer that
I would usually choose for this time of year.

Note †: Whether working as slaves or tenant farmers. Don't overlook the fact that there were blacks in the U.S.A. who owned black slaves, but that was
not the typical situation.
Note ‡: No, I haven't tried Red Stripe "over there". If my budget allowed me to visit "over there", I'd choose someplace else of comparable cost.
