Agreed:

The "but for" standard is always in place:

George Floyd would be alive "but for" the actions of the Minneapolis police.

It doesn't matter that he (or anyone else) could have an entire host of unknown maladies:

If what you do triggers the malady and causes death, you committed murder.

Its a good reason why civil people don't do things like place your knee with all 200 lbs of bodyweight on an unresponsive and unconscious, bleeding, handcuffed man:

He died from the assault, not from any underlying conditions triggered by it.
Very true in one sense.  There is what is known as the "eggshell skull" rule, meaning that if you injure or kill someone who is in a fragile state to begin with, you cannot argue "well, what I did wouldn't have harmed a normal, healthy person".  From Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eggshell_skull

Derek Chauvin, at this point, is probably pretty much screwed.

Floyd was complaining that he could not breathe, so
Chauvin is guilty, because he did not release the pressure.

George Floyd or John Smith, the person matters little, it could have been anybody, as long as he was black. The "riots" are all part of a plan. I await to see what exactly that plan is. I say "riots" because this is all blown up by the media. If you do not live in a black neighborhood or go to stores that they go to, life is as always.

Asphyxiation, strangulation ... semantics. He died because oxygen was cut off to his brain and lungs. He was murdered by a cop. His criminal history is irrelevant. Floyd is you and me. What happened to Floyd is an assault on all Americans. Cops unjustly kill citizens regardless of their skin color. I believe in general racial segregation except if all parties are trad Catholic, but I also know all races are equal in human dignity. Floyd didn't deserve to be murdered by that cop. Let there be street justice against tyrants. You can't rely on government or the criminal justice system.

Medical examiner: George Floyd did not die of strangulation, according to evidence
Posted: 31 May 2020 04:27 PM PDT

DAILYKENN.com -- All that perfectly good rioting has gone to waste; not to mention countless millions (billions?) of dollars in property damage and at least one dead federal police officer.

George Floyd, the black criminal who died shortly after being pinned to the pave by an officer, apparently didn't die of strangulation, The Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

So what killed Floyd? "[H]is underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death,” the medical examiner reported.

"The medical examiner said Floyd had underlying health conditions, including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease," reported mystateline.com.

* What do you think?

So....George Floyd would have died anyway, at that same moment, even if he hadn't been arrested? The arrest had nothing to do with his death? If that's what is being asserted above, I don't buy it.
