The meaningless minutia is actually quite important in this current crisis.
No argument, but to ignore the objective merit of the public apology and focus on the incorrect use of one term is, on the face of it, missing the forest for the trees. That, right or wrong, was my main point with Hobbles. Still, we shall, as has been made clear, have to wait and see what fruit, rotten or good, comes of it all. To see a young man, one whose priestly formation was influenced by some of the most nefarious and externals-loving 'men' ever known, make a public apology is, for me, a great thing to be encouraged. Such an action is so antithetical to those who played a part in his formation that I hold out hope for him, even if only a little. It is hard to act contrary to previous influences, even those we don't proportionately grasp.
Is apostolicity paramount, E____? Oui. Is mission paramount? Oui. Who among all in Traddieland can make a solid case for both?
No one I have come across, and I have spent more personal time amongst these wanna-be shepherds than many ever will. This crisis will be solved, but not in a way any of us presently foresee or could even imagine.
Pope Francis? There's a curveball to all Traddies, if ever there was one...
Hold fast, pray the Rosary, and know that no help will come from mere men...
