Another reason I like IT is because I can work from home.  I've still been able to homeschool and run my household while working fulltime.  I would recommend IT to anyone as a way to make a decent living in a not the worst environment.

BTW, I contracted for Pfizer for a month in 2005.  When I got a better offer from Citigroup, Pfizer threatened to sue me for breach of contract for quitting

I would hope so. After all, we have to do SOMETHING for a living.

And to exaggerate SLIGHTLY, the "Traditional Catholic economy" has about enough money in it to support 3-4 families.

Not everyone can move to St. Mary's, KS and work for Onyx (?) and make countertops. The world only needs so many countertops, you know?

And I know what I'm talking about. The Traditional Catholic world is an extremely small pond, and I own not one but TWO large fish in that pond: CathInfo (the largest/most popular Trad Catholic forum) and the largest family owned (non-corporate) independent Gregorian Chant label (ChantCD.com). One was founded in 2006 and the other in 2003. And together, I don't even break 3 figures per month. So yeah -- not a lot of money in Tradition.

So unless we're going to starve, or live in the woods like beasts, we pretty much have to do something "neutral" at best to earn a living. Unless we have a calling to the medical profession or some very specific calling. But let's just say a given man CANNOT just choose from literally every career that exists. That's simply not how it works. Many men can't do many jobs.

Long story short, God doesn't expect the impossible.
It would be cool for several Catholics to get together to create IT or gaming companies, not necessarily Christian, more medieval games or themes like Tolkien, big cities from the 18th century!

It should be fine as long as there is no blasphemy, heresy, impurity, or anything scandalous to The Catholic Faith or a danger to souls.

You could make a Crusades game then.

The more infidels you kill, the more points you get.
