I don’t see any issues … unless the company contributes to immoral causes,  e.g. Planned Parenthood, or funds abortions for employees.

I would hope so. After all, we have to do SOMETHING for a living.

And to exaggerate SLIGHTLY, the "Traditional Catholic economy" has about enough money in it to support 3-4 families.

Not everyone can move to St. Mary's, KS and work for Onyx (?) and make countertops. The world only needs so many countertops, you know?

And I know what I'm talking about. The Traditional Catholic world is an extremely small pond, and I own not one but TWO large fish in that pond: CathInfo (the largest/most popular Trad Catholic forum) and the largest family owned (non-corporate) independent Gregorian Chant label (ChantCD.com). One was founded in 2006 and the other in 2003. And together, I don't even break 3 figures per month. So yeah -- not a lot of money in Tradition.

So unless we're going to starve, or live in the woods like beasts, we pretty much have to do something "neutral" at best to earn a living. Unless we have a calling to the medical profession or some very specific calling. But let's just say a given man CANNOT just choose from literally every career that exists. That's simply not how it works. Many men can't do many jobs.

Long story short, God doesn't expect the impossible.

I've been in IT since 1999.  Mostly large financial institutions.  I've been with a health care company for 8 years and they do provide a few services that are against Catholic teaching, mostly pharmaceuticals.  I have no contact whatsoever with the clinical side and have discussed with several priests about the suitability of the job for me.

I have to add:

The conscientiousness of Trads regarding "Is my job moral? Should I be dedicating myself to this career?" is precisely WHY there is so little money sloshing around in the world of Tradition.

We tend to philosophize, have strong principles which we actually APPLY to our daily life, think about our Last End all the time, and yes, some are even scrupulous about it. Or at least "playing it safe" and erring on the side of scrupulosity/safety when picking a career.

So yeah -- all the sweet gigs, cushy jobs, etc. in government and the military are off-limits for most Trads.

It's a common fact that one way to really get ahead career-wise is to join a "fraternal organization" like the Freemasons. But what Trads are going to do that?

Meanwhile, Trads don't believe in birth control or sending their kids off to (free!) Public School. So there's a double-whammy there. Larger families, 100X the schooling expenses, hesitance to send kids (or oneself) to filthy, diabolical college environments, and countless careers crossed off the list, right off the bat. Disqualified for being evil. What Trad is going to work for Monsanto, Blackrock, or Pfeizer? Or Google for that matter?
