My results were interesting.  Does anyone want to share results?

If you don't think these tools used to evaluate ourselves is helpful, do you have some Catholic sources that have helped you to understand yourself and others?

  • Anyone want to guess who the 3 Cholerics are? :laugh1: My guess: Matthew, Mark 79, and Ladislaus.

I think they might be, but I also think that they wouldn't bother with this poll. :cowboy:

What does PITB mean?  I am not familiar with that acronym.

According to the tests, I'm supposed to be an INFJ on the Meyers-Briggs classification system. I looked at several references as to what that means. The definition seems to vary depending on the expert, or maybe "expert" would be more correct. Some of them seemed to peg me right on, a couple seemed quite a ways off target, so I went with the one I know to be accurate, PITB. :laugh1:

Understanding people is hard.  If you are an INFJ, then your temperament is primarily Melancholic and secondarily Phlegmatic. Does that sound right? I have studied them a lot because I am suppose to be one as well.

  • The test says I am an INTJ-A. How does is translate into the classic four temperaments?

I see myself more of a phlegmatic.

INTJ would translate to Melancholic Choleric, but if you say you are more phlegmatic then maybe you are an INTP. Other primary phlegmatic types are ISFJ, ISFP, INFP.  What would you say your secondary temperament is?  Our personality can get masked based on how we are treated by others.  If we are accepted the way God made us, it is easier to tell.  If we had to protect ourselves and adapt to others, it might be harder to tell.

I am definitely not Melancholic Choleric. I would say that I am a Phlegmatic and a bit of a Sanguine.

Then you are probably an ISFP.  Google it and see if it matches up.  Remember these are tools to use to help you understand yourself, so you can conquer your vices and enhance your virtues, so you can truly be the person God intended you to be.
