The main thing is to help her understand the mysteries of the Rosary.

I have given the book mentioned above to many grandchildren.

You also may be able to find a fold-out with pictures of all the traditional mysteries. Time spent explaining the pictures to her would be time well-spent. (I use this myself to stay focused.)

I'm sure someone has made a video with pictures of the mysteries also. God bless you for growing her faith.

I loved praying the Rosary with my grandmother at ages four and five.  It didnt matter that I didn't understand everything.  I knew Mary understood me, so I was happy.

How does one go about doing this? I've (finally) been able to take my daughter to Mass with me lately, and she knows the Hail Mary, but I don't know how to go about teaching her the Rosary to a degree that she understands what it is.

Also, any good suggestions for children's chapel veils? She has a chapel cap but doesn't like it and wants a (black) veil like the other girls. I've looked around and only really seen adult sized ones.
Once she hears it a million times, she will get it.  We knelt before a picture or statue and lit a candle for focus.  Used an adult, homemade, inexpensive manilla (or scarf) and tied it on.

I taught them to say Hail Mary when going to bed.  Our Father at a meal. Glory be however.  The children love pictures. So, there are some booklets with pictures.  Let them know that the pictures start with Mary and the angel and how each picture takes you through the life of Jesus, Mary, Joseph.

I took tablet paper, wide lines and wrote out the Hail Mary, and put in the plastic sleeves you use for note books, this was later about age 6, 7 for reading. They know the prayer by heart and now can say and see the words. Do the same for Our Father and Glory Be.  Then the Apostles Creed is last and I printed it all out.

Our grand daughter, slow learner picked up on it real fast. It is a like a light comes on after they know the prayer by heart and then can see the words.

That's a good idea. Especially since she is still learning how to read and write.

I've found that the children's book "Hail Mary" by Sr. Mary St. Paul has been a great means to not only show the importance of Our Lady, but also as a good, very simple means to show the importance of Our Lord and His Sacrifice on Calvary. She now understands that Jesus died on the cross to unlock heaven. She refers to the Cross as His "grave" lol. I can talk a big talk on points of theology, but really simplifying them for a child to understand, I've found, stumps me at times. So all of the advice so far has been helpful.
