Palm Sunday Quick Question
« on: March 27, 2021, 02:07:23 PM »
How many years of Palm Sunday have you meditated upon the triumphant entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem? No cheating. Surely you remember this image in your mind.

Did Jesus enter upon
a.    an ass?
b.    a colt?
c.    an ass and a colt?

I thought it was an ass's colt, but I've heard many different "translations" over the years having been mired in the Novus Ordo for many years.

I did check it, and colt, ass, and ass's colt are all in the various Gospels.  Not sure, without checking the Missal, which one is read on Palm Sunday in the traditional Mass.  I believe they rotate the readings in the Novus Ordo.  BTW:  How on earth would Jesus enter Jerusalem on an ass and a colt?

That is my question. The DRBO and all my translations (and even my various TLM Missals now say what they NEVER said before:
Matt 21: 6
And the disciples going, did as Jesus commanded them. [7] And they brought the ass and the colt, and laid their garments upon them, and made him sit thereon.

For those who paid attention and KNOW what the Bible said, the enemy has changed what is in our Bibles and Missals.

To have Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ now sitting on two animals and the same time is a sacrilegious attempt to mock Our Lord.

Another thread has other Bible passages

Matt 21:7, Vulgate, says both: adduxerunt asinam et pullum; however, "thereon" isn't in the Latin.  Instead, it's "desuper"--"from above."
