2,500 National Guard by noon, and requesting federal assets; Trump expresses willingness to send them.
Largest police force in the 164 year history of the state of Minnesota, and active mobilization of the entire Minnesota Guard by tonight.
General Jensen (MN Mational Guard) says his goal is to decimate the enemy force tonight.
Never thought I would back the militarization of a Police force, but things have gotten out of hand here, and if they can’t get things in hand tonight, we are approaching a Mad Max, every man for himself situation.
Every law abiding citizen in the metro area is cleaning his rifle in case they can’t protect us.
Civil society here is teetering.
.
Walz and Frey outright said (this morning) that the problem is one of manpower, that they simply do not have the manpower (even with 2,500 national guardsmen) to control the problem. I think they said that (if it's true) as a way of telling people that they're on their own, that they can't count on cops or even the guard to help them if something goes wrong.
.
Now there's whispers that the whole guard (13,000) are being mobilized. Earlier in the day the Commander of the Guard said that while they have 13,000 members, only the 2,500 are actually trained for this kind of thing. So, I'm not sure what another 11,000 guard members who haven't been trained in crowd control are supposed to do. Stand there and look scary? And again, it's unclear if that many are
actually being mobilized. They might just be saying that to startle the rabble rousers, especially since earlier in the day the state and local leaders advertised to the whole world the fact that they simply do not have the resources to stop the violence. Which is
obviously just going to embolden the people who want to commit it.
.
Pray for everyone. It is a very, very bad situation.
