Best Argument on "Baptism of desire."

An excellent video (42min) on all the aspects of the theory of Baptism of desire , how it came about, and the Church s non teaching on the subject.

I don't allow links to schismatic websites on CathInfo.

Hence MHFM links are forbidden.

They -- and their cheerleaders -- are persona non grata here.

If every MHFM fan left CathInfo it would be a better place, and I wouldn't shed the first tear.

I'm actually quite the Trad-cuмenical -- that is to say, I allow wide latitude for differing opinions on how to deal with the Crisis. My "opinion" is that no one has the kind of certainty that can compel OTHERS to follow a given path. Our Lord hasn't appeared to anyone with a clear formula of what to do in this Crisis. So latitude must be given.

There are many mysteries, and many unknowns in this Crisis. The benefit of the doubt must be given unless forced otherwise.

HOWEVER, we can be quite certain about things (cf. the quote from Our Lord: "My words will not pass away.") like Catholic Charity, or how wrong it always is to act like you're the pope, when you're not. That much should be clear to all.

That is why I have determined that the Dimond Bros are not of good will. They are bent on enriching themselves and deceiving many. They are not just mistaken -- they are malicious. Their behavior and words clearly demonstrate this.

Any truth on their website is like the "90% good" in Vatican II, the airplane missing 4 out of 4 engines, or the apple with a huge worm in the middle. Of course evil needs a vessel of "good" to get anywhere, or no one would accept it! Pure evil doesn't exist.

Well, we know that One Dove will be banned as soon as Matthew gets home from Mass and checks the forum.

I don't agree with banning folks for their theological views and/or deleting their links.  Reminds me of what I endured at the Catholic Answers Forum.  A sub-forum would certainly be appropriate; having said that, in this digital age, folks are free to make-up their own minds about things.  As for the Dimonds, I have found them to be excellent bibliographers, but their theology is, IMHO, certainly lacking.  But, they are certainly correct, in that the Catholic Church, from her inception, at least until recently, did not give the "presumptive certitude" that salvation is to be found outside of the Sacraments and outside of submission to the Roman Pontiff.  Such is a novelty which began to overtake the Catholic Church in the 19th-century and which was "formalized" at the Second Vatican Council.

"To go where no one has gone before", should be the motto of the modern-day adherents of Baptism of Desire.
