I'm thinking of posting pictures here of when I was in Italy on a pilgrimage almost two years ago.
Here's one from when I was in Assisi. I was in the edifice of the Basilica of Santa Maria dei Angeli (Holy Mary of the Angels), which contains the Portiuncula, where St. Francis founded his order, and the place where he died. What was nice was that there was Benediction there at the time. :smile: It was not nice though that a NOM was being said. :cry: The picture below is of the thistle plant on which St. Francis did penance to gain the virtue of chastity. It is on the grounds of the basilica.

Sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures of the inside of the basilica. The church of the Portiuncula was pretty small I tell you. Just imagine what it would have been like to have had Mass there.
