I'm glad to see the topic of narcissism being discussed here. My 90 year old mother moved in with me recently. she has been diagnosed with cancer, and is under the care of Hospice. She can no longer live alone. She has been given 6 months to a year to live. I've always been perplexed by her behavior, and I have recently felt that she may be a narcissist, and have been researching the subject.
She does, however, have the capacity to be kind, but she is focused on herself most of the time. And, she has falsely accused me of quite a few things since she moved in. She's much better now, and I'm learning to not do things that may set her off. Also, every time she makes an accusation (the latest is that I'm stealing her money, a few weeks ago), I tell my family and her caregivers. She can't stand that, and I think that's partly why she's been nicer to me. She also has memory problems.
If anyone here lives with a narcissist, please don't suffer alone. Tell people what's happening.
