Before all those Latin Mass closures in Charlotte how many faithful did you have on an average Sunday? Do you have more faithful now then back than? The article talked about a new Church capable of seating approximately 600 worshippers, are there newer plans to reduce that number down to maybe 500 or is that already set in stone?
Before COVID, our average attendance was around 120. During and after the pandemic, that number increased to approximately 250, as many people began using the chapel for Confession and Holy Communion, and a significant number remained.
When public Masses were suspended, attendance grew further to around 360, with even higher numbers on Sundays that featured special events. Throughout Holy Week, many people participated in the Triduum at the chapel. This past Easter, attendance reached 405.
The last time I spoke with someone who would likely be familiar with the situation, I was told that no plans had yet been developed. At the same time, the bulletin continues to request donations to help retire the existing debt.
Supposedly, there was an update in the HNS meeting (which I did not attend):
