Some have left for the FSSP,  but I don't think it was due to the "excommunications," or at least not solely because of it. They left before the consecrations happened. The FSSP has an apostolate not far away; large Gothic church aquired from the diocese, 2 priests, convenient mass times, and full parish life. We have low mass on Sunday afternoons, soon to be decreased to bi-weekly due to attendance.
However, we have been seeing a slow trickle of new faces and returning former ones since July 1.

At St. Mary's Kansas, everything is about the same..We had a first mass from a newly ordained priest, so attendance was up some. I am seeing new faces all the time. As many have said in this thread,  fall will be a better indication. People are all over the place with summer vacations now.

6/28: 365
7/5: 300
We are holding steady at about 300 so it was a 20% decrease.
In the meantime, I have no clue where this dude is getting his numbers....https://integritymagazine.org/2026/07/20/exclusive-sspx-project-manager-reveals-charlotte-chapels-massive-expansion-plans/

" A chapel that once served approximately 150 faithful now accommodates roughly 500 laity attending two overflowing Sunday Masses."

Yes, I attend that chapel.
The closing took place on July 8th, with the chapel taking a loan from the SSPX for about $1.15 million..
There never were any updates on the money raised until the very end. We don't know how much has been raised to cover the loan as of today.
I had heard it was kept under wraps because of the bishop, but Jim had interviewed with LifeSite in 2025 about the land purchase.
If you have particular questions, please post and I will answer if I know the information.
