Matthew, I wouldn't put it past Pfeiffer getting the consecrating bishop to re-do the essential part until it was to his satisfaction. And I wouldn't be surprised if he went to some other bishop and got himself conditionally consecrated. Of course none of the above may have happened! As far as Asia is concerned Pfeiffer knows the territory well, and if anyone is to deal the SSPX a knockout blow, it is him.
Even if Pfeiffer was conditionally consecrated “correctly” by Webster, there are still doubts.
There exists a video of +Slupski (who consecrated Webster) consecrating a man where the essential form is messed up more than Webster’s error while consecrating Pfeiffer.
There are serious doubts to the validity of ordinations and consecrations performed by +Slupski. May he rest in peace.
