As I said in another thread --
It's not that I hate sedevacantists, because I don't. What I hate is the institutionalization, or cultification, of a single opinion on the Crisis -- an opinion which CAN'T have the necessary certainty to condemn others or compel their consciences. Turning "Sedevacantist" into a major identity and group, such that non-Sedevacantists are excluded, condemned, as "others" and "outsiders". You know, like in any cult.
That's why I hate unnecessary use of that adjective. "Sedevacantist dating site" is hilarious to me. As if Traditional Catholic isn't enough. But that's exactly it -- to some Sedevacantists, that's their team, their group, their identity, and they would un-ironically tell you "NO, anything but Sedevacantist isn't enough!". So they need Sedevacantist rosaries, Sedevacantist friends, Sedevacantist gregorian chant, Sedevacantist dating sites, and a Sedevacantist chapel. Served by a Sedevacantist priest of course.
As I said in another thread, Sedes used to just attend SSPX and other independent ("Traditional Catholic") chapels. Many still do. Their opinion on the pope was just that -- an opinion. It didn't stop them from socializing with their fellow parishioners. It didn't reduce the # of Masses they attended each year. It didn't cause them to become bitter, nor did it cause a complete lack of charity and a withering of any good fruits.
