Because I would have said that you should follow the advice of your confessor. I assume he instructed you that if you’re not positive you committed a mortal sin then you should not confess it?


Also, it is very good that you are adhering to his advice not to confess until after a week has passed.

I think he has told me that if I'm sure of a new mortal sin it's fine to go confession again but if no mortal sins or any past mortal sins that I remember then to wait the 1 week time.
